@donjuancorleone: Agreed. As someone who spends 8 or more hours a day reading at work, it's nice to come home and watch a video review.

Seems like an interesting concept. I'm not sure if it's the choppy frame rate or just some awkward animations in this video that is turning me off though. Not really digging the music either.

Gamespot, it seems like you need to get a video editor who has some professional experience to review and edit videos like this. In the beginning, it hangs on the first planet for way to long and then starts suddenly cutting from one scene to the next with no sense of rhythm or purpose. I understand that you lost a lot of the talent that had sensibilities about things like this, but I think you're going to continue to lose views and regulars from this site if you don't start trying to get back to the level of quality you had a few years ago.

EDIT: As a solution, maybe you could have each person who edits videos take a class or two, or simply demand higher quality from them.

EDIT2: Watching the beginning again, maybe I'm wrong and the game just has jarring transitions?

Is Richard Garriott saying that he invented the word "Avatar", 3D graphics and Role Playing games (implied to be video games), and "Boxes" (implying boxes for games)?

The word avatar comes originates in Hinduism although Garriott coined the term to represent the user on-screen, so I suppose that's fair. I'm pretty sure that video games came in boxes before Akalabeth and Ultima though... Maybe someone else wants to take on 3D graphics and the creation of the first computer role playing game...

Either way, he certainly was still a major innovator and helped popularize these things back in the day.

@Thanatos2k: I hope they'll also add a few instruments besides piano to the music score. At least there are strings in the trailer.

This is exactly the kind of deal I've been waiting for on a Gigabyte Gtx 1080. Thanks for the tip Gamespot!

Movie stops playing at around 3:54... I'm starting to wonder why I keep coming back to this site. Mostly habit I suppose.

I enjoyed Rogue Legacy a lot. 4 euros is a great deal for that.

I wish Gamespot would stop playing the same annoying add for every single video.

EDIT: It would also be nice if the video player stopped freezing and they stopped putting 10 minutes of nothing at the beginning of previously recorded live streams. It's not live anymore, you should not leave that at the beginning of a video, it's ridiculous.

@dreadborne: If everyone stopped gaming on consoles and switched to PC, then every game could be released on a single universal system (PC), which is fully capable of playing games the same way that consoles do (big screen TV across from a couch, console controllers, etc). That would mean gamers could just own 1 system instead of buying several just for console exclusives. I keep my old consoles in a box in storage because they are often the only way to legitimately play exclusive games, and I'm tired of buying so many different systems to play all of the best games.

On the other hand, I only need to have 1 PC because it is capable of playing all older PC games, and admittedly, can emulate those old console games so I don't have to pull them out and dust them off. See the convenience? I'd prefer to have it all in one place.

Imagine if you had to keep all your old PCs around just to play older PC games. This is one of the biggest reasons why some PC gamers would like to see consoles fade away.
