@blueinheaven: That's fine if you don't like a certain type of character design. I'm okay with the fact that you might not like the way someone looks, but it sounds to me like you are saying that you absolutely don't like someone because of the way that they look. If that's the case, do you see some problems with that logic?

I'm curious, do you know who Tetsuya Nomura is and what kind of characters he tends to design? Can you name one Final Fantasy game where the male hero didn't look feminine at least in the original artwork? You probably can't because the series has always been this way since the original art by Yoshitaka Amano in 1987.

I don't think most people care about how much you hate boy bands. I'm only suggesting that you don't limit the things you are capable of enjoying so strictly based on the way someone or something looks.

@blueinheaven: Did you genuinely think those words imply that Final Fantasy XV would run better on a crappy laptop than a PS4? Did you think that someone was genuinely claiming that a brand new game would run better on an outdated PC then it would on the PS4? When someone says, "that game would look great on PC", do you naturally assume that they are referring to an outdated PC that the game would in fact, not look good on?

Based on your comments, you seem to think that saying "better on PC" means "better on EVERY PC". You added an extra word that was never there to begin with.

@blueinheaven: @SexyJazzCat gave no implication that all PC's would play Final Fantasy XV better than current gen consoles. That was just you projecting your own concerns into the few words that @SexyJazzCat wrote.

@Xristophoros: : Where is a good place to donate old consoles? When I get a new PC, I transfer the data from my old hard drive and then give away the old hardware. Maybe I can just throw away the consoles that are emulated well on PC.

Wouldn't life as a gamer be convenient if every new game was developed for a single, backwards compatible platform? Is such a thing possible? Yes, of course it is possible. Why isn't this the way things happen? Perhaps it's more important that Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo make a profit than it is for all of their potential customers to have a better quality of life as gamers.

Would companies stop making great games like Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Halo, Forza, Mario Galaxy, and Zelda if they didn't have that extra budget to promote console sales? On that note, do developers tend to make a better game if there is a bigger budget?

Any time a game I want comes out on console as well as PC, I buy it on PC. Buying a game on PC means that I will still be able to play it on whatever PC I own in the future, even after I inevitably put my current gen console into storage.

If I could predict the future, I'd say that eventually, there will be no need to buy a "console" because every game will work on your "personal device". Connect your "personal device" to a TV and play the game with a secondary wireless controller or emulate one via motion capture (which sounds terrible without actual feedback) if that's how you prefer to play. Hell, maybe the device will be implanted under the skin for a lot of people.

20 to 30 years from now, we'll be looking back and saying, "wow, we had to buy a separate system just to play different games?" How archaic :)

@edhc44: FFXII's is my favorite battle system to this day. You were given full control over every action that each of your party members made. You could micromanage if you like to play that way. If you wanted to automate them to do something like cast Ice on enemies who are weak against Ice, heal a party member who reached less than 60% hp, or cast protect, shell, and bubble on every character who didn't already have those buffs, you could save yourself the time by telling your allies how to act. They even performed their actions without interrupting your exploration. No game has ever given the user so much control over their party like that.

Does my description of the battle system sound anything like what you experienced with it? A lot of people just looked at the "Gambit System" and said, "nope, I'm not going to put any thought into this". The gambit system is a fun taste of programming, and a thoughtful dive into how people act. I can imagine how lame it would seem to someone who didn't want to think about the possibilities. Your comment gave me the impression that you are not interested in programming your AI. Is that the case?

@blueinheaven: You mean that you're concerned about how the main characters style their hair? Why does it bother you what their hair looks like?

Or is this not about their hair at all :-O? Maybe you just don't like people who look a certain way. Is that what it is?

@mirage_so3: Sorry to hear it if you spent your money on something that you thought would be good for games and then found out that it didn't play games very well :( I'd be happy to discuss it with you, but you said you honestly don't care.

Since you honestly don't care, let's compare Final Fantasy XIII on the console (pick one) to the PC. I actually started to enjoy the game on PC. Have you tried it on PC? Sorry, I must specify - "A GAMING PC, NOT A LAPTOP". You don't care though, so I'll try not to talk about things that you don't care about.

When someone talks about how well a game performs on PC, do you start thinking about how a game would perform on a cheap laptop?

P.S. if you genuinely want to know what an "adequate" PC would be to run FFXV (in the future), I'd be happy to speculate for you and go into details. Actually, Gamespot just made a new video to help beginners understand what components a PC is made up of... This could be just the jump start that you are looking for! Go for it my friend!

Sincerely wondering,

@blueinheaven: I felt it was implied that @SexyJazzCat meant an adequate gaming PC. I'll be buying it for PS4 and PC personally, but I am especially looking forward to seeing what it looks like on a mediocre laptop - err wait - I mean an adequate gaming PC :P

As much as I'd love to play the game sooner, I'm really glad they are making the extra push to keep the frame rate closer to 30. I suppose getting rid of the weird graphical glitches is great as well. It seems like it is really important to Tabata and even the company that this game is received well.

"Chip tune" typically refers to 8-bit music, but this does sound pretty good.
