@linthes999: It's possible. Some people can speak pretty coherently after consuming a lot of booze...

A compressed video of the game running with max settings at 30 frames per second. Why not a higher quality video at 60 fps?

@T-ESI: They post articles like this because readers are interested in it. You know how they can tell? By keeping tracking of how many people click on the link, better yet make a comment. Good job contributing to that :)

This looks like a great game for VR functionality. I'd imagine riding a self built roller coaster through the Oculus Rift would be a blast. If that happens, I'm pretty sure I'd buy this game.

@purplegamer: "I am becoming so disappointed in this generation of gamers."

Not thinking very deeply about that statement are you?

@retron57: Avatar was and is pretty damn popular - globally at least. I can only give you my own perspective of the movie based on what I thought about it and my background before seeing it. My background: born in '82 and didn't fully watch the full Star Wars trilogy until I was in my early 30's. I didn't see every Disney movie that came out when I was young, but I saw a few such as The Sword in the Stone, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and the Lion King. Those all made a big impression on me as a kid, as we'd expect right? That's a generalized overview of my Disney movie history, but doesn't touch upon my other thoughts, experiences, and beliefs growing up or what they are now. As a growing child, my values, principles, and even standards for story telling were encouraged through the stories told in Final Fantasy IV and VI more than anything else. While I discovered the wisdom of Yoda in other places, Disney stories seemed like more of an afterthought ;)

Over the years, it became pretty common and obvious that new stories often borrow things and even expand upon classic stories. I had already heard the Pocahontas story, and I didn't mind that Avatar was a re-telling of those historic bullet points. The fact that a similar story had been told before did not affect my enjoyment of the movie.

Anyways, I loved Avatar when I saw it. Yes, the 3D effect was done so well that it made a good impression along with the special effects, but I feel the movie has more value than that. The narrative explored how a faction of the human race could destroy a living society that they considered to be of lower value than a non-living resource. That resonated with me regardless of how anyone else had told such a story in the past - largely because it is a prominent aspect of the world we live in today. The fact that the resource was called unobtainium didn't bother me, because I was more interested in the bigger picture.

It's very rare that I watch a movie more than once, but I have done this with Avatar. The only thing that bothered me on the second viewing was that the music often repeats the same general chord progression. Surprisingly, I haven't seen any discussions about how the music is repetitive. If you try to watch it again, please tell me, does the music get on your nerves at all?

Full disclosure: I don't read a lot of Fiction, so I'm likely not exposed to enough stories to get bored by repetition of similar narratives. However, I'm well versed in music, creativity, and entertainment value. These are the things that make a movie enjoyable to me, and I suspect that it's the same for most of the movie viewing population. Could that explain why the movie is so popular, yet some, such as yourself, are very unhappy with it?

Star Wars has been around for more than 30 years, has multiple entries, and enjoys a vast universe of fantasy knowledge to draw from. What you admitted sounds silly because Avatar is new, ambitious, and promising, but not proven. Comparing Star Wars to Avatar sounds like quite a compliment to the new guy, Avatar my friend :)

@freedom01: I hadn't heard of Setsuna, but it looks promising from the TGS video. Glad you mentioned it. Hopefully it does come west, since I don't speak / read much Japanese.

Xenoblade Chronicles always felt like a spiritual successor to Chrono Trigger in many ways to me. The music and graphical style played a big role in that.

As for FFXV, my hopes are pretty high as well.
