Great video, loved the Seinfeld nod. I'd love to see some more fleshed out videos about Dark Souls lore.

@PS2fweak: Stop what now? I agree that I would have hoped an i7 4770k with 2 980's would be able to run GTA V at max settings with a constant 60 fps+, but I don't have that set up and haven't experimented with GTA V settings, so I did a little research online.

I'm seeing that other people had problems with stuttering when running GTA V using 980s in sli on the forums at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/826185/gta-v-stuttering-with-gtx-980-sli/ If this is the issue, it's suggested that forcing Vsync to a specific frame rate might help. It's worth noting that not all 980s are exactly equal as well thanks to all the different brands and versions out there.

Also, if you watch this YouTube video, you'll see that the frame rate frequently dips to 50 fps and below in higher detail areas or even just driving through semi-busy traffic using an i7 5820k with 2 980s in sli. This video is evidence that @tonyleo01 is correct saying that he can't get a "constant 60fps", without any implication that his setup is flawed. If the frame rate ever dips below 60.0 fps, it is not a constant 60fps. It's important to avoid confusing the term "constant" for "average". Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M2vq71ML4I

Edit: I'm guessing that @tonyleo01 did the bulk of his frame rate analysis in the more detailed areas. That's typically how I analyse my frame rate because those are the spots that really count when you're playing the game. I wouldn't find much value in standing around in the low detail areas just to get off about how high the frame rate can go.

@ferna1234: That made me laugh. The eternal state of shitting ones pants emotionally.

On the bright side, I recall Tetsuya Nomura saying that Final Fantasy VI is one he'd really like to revisit.

@mikemurphy80: The difference between some settings on high compared to ultra can be pretty drastic on the frame rate. It's common for an ultra setting to make a barely noticeable visual impact while dropping the fps pretty hard.

@owkler: Thanks for the gamexplain suggestion. You're right, that review is a lot more detailed.

Early in the gamexplain review it says the main story could be completed in about 40 hours. Peter probably didn't do a lot of the non-main missions if he beat it in 65 hours.

@Bray209: I doubt it will take long before we can find YouTube videos of people breaking Breaking Benjamin CDs. And the title writes itself, "Breaking Breaking Benjamin."

@hystavito: Yeah, it's possible that people didn't like the new format. I can say I didn't like it and it just seems extra cluttered with more advertisements. It could also be that some people don't see the "load comments" button at the bottom so they just left the page. I'm seeing this page in the traditional format, so I'm wondering if they changed it back already.

@kjouda: I see what you mean about not wanting to classify this type of game in the same category as the big triple A games. I think that's a valid point and I'm glad you took the time to explain your point of view in depth. To be honest, I would have listed the enemy battle sprites being black and white as a negative in the review as well. I can also admit that Undertale doesn't have the best pixel graphics out there either since they were created to look closest to the original NES graphics. It sounds like these graphical issues didn't bother the reviewer at all and he might have even enjoyed the overly simple artistic design since he didn't list them as negatives in the review.

Despite the graphics being primitive and bland at times, most gamers who played it agree that Undertale works really well as a complete package. It provides a unique experience by trying some new things, using a large variety of catchy music to fit each situation, and clever dialogue that can draw the player into the game more than most other games do. Games that do that kind of thing almost always get high scores from reviewers as long as the other aspects of the game are enjoyable. When new games come out that just provide more of the same gameplay that we've already played to death, they are often going to have lower scores. A lot of the fun that comes with a fresh experience dissipates with uninspired sequels that re-hash the same story, gameplay, and atmosphere, so that often explains the lower score for a triple A game such as Black Ops 3. Plus they weren't done by the same reviewer, The guy who did the Undertale review is already a fan of the genre and the guy who did the Black Ops 3 review happens to be a fan of first person shooters.

While it makes sense what you're saying, as intelligent gamers, we're more than capable of reading between the lines to figure out which reviews are right for us and which games we're most likely to enjoy. Regardless of what type of game you prefer, game on and have fun :)
