@grin89: I always wondered if his show was cancelled because angry commenters became butt hurt for having their ignorance teased and advertised to the whole site.

@Teebown24: I agree, it will be impressive if they can pull it off as great as they're aiming for. Sephiroth and especially Kefka are the two most evil villains that come to my mind as well. The developers said in multiple interviews that they are trying make this game to be loved more than any Final Fantasy that came before it. They seem to be really aiming to create the most amazing experience possible. It's hard to determine a whole lot from the demo (which felt decent but not amazing to me), but I hope they can accomplish what they are trying to do.

@lordshifu: I loved the music in the whole Mass Effect trilogy as well and it added allot of value to the atmosphere and the experience. I can't comment much on Dragon Age: Origins because I only played it for a few hours and don't recall much about the music. I agree that commercialization of AAA games can be a common problem. It's typically developers that are owned by massively profitable production companies that get forced into early unfinished release dates and excessive crunch time for the employees. Yep, it's a bummer when money is considered more important than creating a quality product that will bring in customers who keep coming back for more.

We can see some of that classic passion from indie developers although they don't have the big budget for expensive graphics like the commercialized developers do. That often just means that the graphics are more on par with the classics from the 90's. I'm sure we'll see some more of those games made with love again, but it's hard to tell until after we've played through them :) If you have any interest in classic RPG's such as Earthbound or Final Fantasy you might want to look for some reviews on the new critically acclaimed game called Undertale (try to avoid spoilers on this one.) It only takes 6-10 hours to play through the first time, but it's filled with quality moments and none of the "filler" that a lot modern RPG's throw in.

@Saidrex: Those hair styles look pretty similar to what a lot of rock stars have done with their hair. That style is even more common in Japan and there is nothing "gay" about it. I don't remember hearing anything about the characters crying to each other, but what's wrong with men talking about their feelings? Do you have the old macho attitude that real men don't talk about their feelings and should keep everything bottled up inside?

I wonder if people would be complaining as much if the kingdom was represented by a more typical color scheme such as red or blue. Then again, those particular outfits might look pretty strange if they were all a single shade of any other color.

Final Fantasy Type-O had all 13 characters wearing the same red and black color scheme and I didn't hear nearly as much complaining. I generally prefer a variety of colors in the character design as well, which made the Type-O characters a little dull in appearance to me. The black outfits of Final Fantasy XV don't bother me that much though. I usually prefer dark colors but I can still see how a variety of colors could be more interesting visually. For the sake of argument though, take a look at Tidus from Final Fantasy X and tell me if you'd prefer that kind of goofy outfit instead.

It's interesting how people keep saying that black outfits are "Emo", "Goth", or for "Boy Bands" along with these hair styles. Don't you realize it's at least as common for metal bands to wear all black, some punk rock bands, and also a few good old rock bands? They're often known to spend a bunch of time on their hair as well. Johnny Cash was known as the man in black and he played classic rock, country, and folk music.

It's silly to me how strongly people are concerned about the look of the characters. We won't know if they are interesting and well designed characters until we play through the story and see how fleshed out their personalities are. I have no desire to negatively judge people wearing all black with fancy hair in real life, so I don't see a good reason to be bothered by it in a Video Game. Ever heard the saying, don't judge a book by it's cover?

@Ahiru-San: fair enough when it's described by it's reflection of light, but it's still commonly referred to as a color because our eyes perceive it that way. As far as colors like paint go, black or at least dark shades of grey can be obtained by mixing multiple dark colors together.

@tom_cat_01: From what the developers have said in interviews, it sounds like it's still going to become a dark story. Sometimes it's easier to appreciate a dark story or environment after first being placed into a happier situation to demonstrate the contrast. They also said the villain will be more evil than any Final Fantasy villains in the past.

@Utahraptor_: Okeydokeyville, now that's an interesting town. Right next to Penistone and Loserville over in Donkey Kong Country right?
