@madracing: Maybe he'll have turned to the dark side and they want it to be a surprise before the movie comes out... But that's just a theory, a film theory.

The game that changed my life was Super Mario Bros, but the first one I played must have been either Pacman, Donkey Kong, or River Raid on the old Atari when I was 4 or 5. I saved every penny I could find for about half of a year to buy a Nintendo as soon as I played Super Mario Bros.

@ferna1234: My Dad was hesitant, but still let me play Doom and Wolfenstein 3D when I was about 10 but wow 5 is really young lol. I don't think it would cause any harm unless the child already has violence issues.

@Schreffboyrd: Yep. That and Commander Keen were the only shareware games where I bought the full version as a kid. I remember Monster Bash getting really hard after the shareware section. It was also bloodier than just about any other game at the time.

What's with all the typos today, is someone on vacation? Tamoors Dark Souls 3 article was filled with them as well and he usually writes pretty well...

That is pretty funny about the Rock Band 4 developers. Nothing like a little shameless self promotion.

@justbefahad: I don't think I'm alone in that I enjoy the numerical scores and most people are aware that the numbers are pretty subjective. Listening to people whine about the numbers and make accusations of bias can be entertaining and annoying, but I don't think the system should be changed because of them.

@cranston53: I don't think it's just certain review sites that give poor controls a pass. It's many of your average gamers. Gameplay is my number 1 concern, but it understandably isn't for many others who genuinely care more about the story, world, and graphics. The Witcher 3 is a great example and the awkward controls have been diminishing my experience with the game as well.

To each their own I suppose, but the lack of emphasis on game controls in reviews seems to be fairly representative of a big chunk of gamers.
