Rouge Warrior stinks of some side project thrown together in haste to get out for the holiday season, it is likely not reflective of a developers ability. Lots of developers, even those behind everyone's favorite AAA franchises have made bad games before. SepewrathI believe I recall reading somewhere that Rogue Warrior went through two different developers, the latter of which obviously ended up being Rebellion. Bethesda gave them something like 8 or 9 months to get it done, and thus we ended up with the Rogue Warrior that's on shelves right now. Not really defending the game or anything but I think the POTENTIAL was there for at least a moderately good game, but who knows. Given that Rebellion has had/ is having ample time to develop the new AvP game, I think it will turn out quite good.

How will it hold up to Bayonetta? Well, first off I don't understand the comparison as they are drastically different, but whatever. Personally, I think Darksiders looks like AAA material and Bayonetta looks like a mediocre over-the-top action game with a main character that looks like she was made by a horny 14-year old nerd. So, in short, I think Bayonetta will have the hard time. Of course, critics seems to disagree.

They're being compared because they're both highly rated games that are being released on the same day, and most people can't afford to spend $120 on games in one day.
I'll be playing both, probably Darksiders first, considering DMC4 wasn't that long and wasn't particularly replayable, so Bayonetta will be a renter/bargain-bin purchase eventually.
Still very different games, the fact that they have the same release date really means nothing. Bayonetta is in the same vein as DMC, while Darksiders is more of a mixture of God of War and Zelda.
