OK, but as time goes by, people use more and more HDD space, people download more data and Game developers will start making bigger and bigger games.

Assassins creed for example. Ubisoft could not fit it properly onto a DVD9. They had to work with Microsoft to super compress the game to JUST fit into a DVD9 disk.

I want a media where i can just shove all of my files onto a single disk. It makes me kind pissed when i have to always put it into multiple DVD's.

And blu ray disks and drives are getting cheaper and cheaper. What the hells the point of having a DVD for when it gets to that point?

O and also about load times lol. I dont think you's realize that the blu ray laser has a much higher data read/write capacity than a DVD laser.

Read that. Also it is possible to double (or 1.5x atleast) the rotational speed of the motor with a firmware update for the ps3.

So yea. Blu-ray is a damn smart move. The draw back was just its initial cost.

In all seriousness GreenGoblin2099 is right, dump the wii. Its not that good and those huge sales that you are seeing of the Wii are just due to the non gamers/ family/kids market. I dont see a single good game in sight for it. And No more heroes is not that good.

*sigh* still more people bi**hing and moaning about yet another new peice of software to try to enchance PSN. Even tho its mostly FREE. People say thats its a gimmick, even tho its been less than a week since it came out, people are calling it a gimmick. I still enjoy Sonic so I wouldnt say he's "fallen" more like he's tripping here and there. Square Enix in my opinion were cranking out crap since the oh so overrated FF7. Kingdom Hearts 1 is the only good that comes to mind though FF10-2 was ok. If I could add anything here, Id say lack of originality is hurting gaming as well.sonicthemegaman

Square ENIX has been cranking out crap since prob around FF11. FF7,8,9 ARE the ULIMATES in the series, especially ff7. If you think FF7 is overrated, everything else must be super overrated.

You do realise that sony went nearly 2 years without making a AAA game.

Then what do you call MGS4, which is pretty much 100%? or little big planet which got 95% on metacritic? or Resistance 2(90%)? and Uncharted(which got 89% on metacritic altho its user scores were alot higher)? or ratchet and clank tools of destruction which GS failed with the review while it got 90% on metacritic. Or wipeout HD which got 87% on metacritic altho it really deserves more credit? And motorstorm pacific rift which is around 85% on metacritic but bloody fun?

heaps of games for the holiday season, and straight afterwards is KILLZONE 2 then God of war 3 later in the year and GT5 soon. Plus all the great multiplatform games to last all year round like cod4 or gta4 or dead space or assassins creed or Bioshock, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Fallout 3, Prince of persia and alot more.

All of which are never comming to the wii. The wii lacks many games. Too much shovelware. And only a couple of great titles like SMG and SSBB(gets boring fast tho). Nintendo thinks thers no need to make its fans happy since thier still selling even tho i dont see a good game in sight(cos of the good old non-gamer market...). ...Wii music..anyone?

1. Bluray cannot be taken out, it is a nessity to ps3 gaming and ps3 exclusives, and is a really fast loading and reliable BR live 2 player. BR is what makes the ps3.

If so you can forget about games like uncharted, R+C, MGS4 or R2 or even R1 (which could prob fit onto a dvd-9 if they reeeaaaallly compressed it in there) and KILLZONE 2 and anything else. plus, you get to play uncompressed versions of multiplatform games.

2. The internal wifi module is ONLY around $10 ($15.50 2 years ago) now matey, compared to the $60+ MS propetary External wifi module you have to buy seperate. Its just a complementary addition for a great console as it is. The wifi is just one of those 'o..we mite as well chuck in wi-fi, its doesnt change the price much'peices of hardware. How stupid would that be if you bough a wifiless ps3 for $389, that would be so annoying..such a pain in the arse.

3. Sony cant make a diffrent 'cheaper' SKU along side with the ordinary $399 80GBps3 + one game bundle cos every single peice of hardware in the machine is needed cept for the wifi which i would gladly rather pay the extra $10 to have it nicely inbuilt and have a complete system.

You see there is NO diffrence between the internal hardware of the Xbox 360 SKU's. Except for the storage. The diffrences in the SKU's are what extra STUFF comes in the box. The arcade comes with nothing cept a inbuilt 256MB internal flash storage(which is absolute crap) and a couple of pre loaded 2d arcade games, the pro comes with more stuff, and finally the elite comes with these extra cables, 120GB HDD a headset and a black finish including the controler and a xbox live gold 1 month membership. For $200 more than the arcade. Yet no one complains about the price of the 360 elite which is the same price as the ps3 even tho the ps3's internal hardware has more stuff in it and is superior to the 360's.

But the ps3 has no extra things in the box, cept for a manual, controller, usb cable and a game of your own pick...also some regions, a PSN download voucher etc. Unless its a game bundle. And thats $399, so there can never really be another ps3 SKU cos the least u can get in a box (other than the ps3) IS $399.

Dont ever bother mention things to do with software such as disabling Movie playback/music playback etc cos the price of a peice of electronics is in the hardware. Sony continously adds to the OS by firmware update, that doesnt change the price of the ps3, they can cut all of its features out cept for game playability and the ps3 will still be $399 cept alot less ppl would buy it.

The only real way to get $200 is by waiting maybe 2 more yrs. realisticly sony could go away from thier current break even point and lose $100 and console to make the price $299 (to equal the price of the 360 Pro)..that would make the ps3 sales skyrocket and the 360 elite ($399 die). Altho i dont think they ll do that. The only other way to get to $299 is cheaper manufacturing.

No really, dont get a Wii. Nintendo has pulled the plug on real gamers and focused on family friendly, less hardcore games that suit non gamers, and that combined with its relatively low price in this economic crisis is what makes it sell(parents everywhere would go directly for this for the christmas season)

BUT..When i go to the Wii section on GS and look at its games....i dont see much, do you see much?

Take SMG, SSBB(good MP game..but not really a great SP game), Metroid 3, and No more heroes aside....there is nothing really that great.

You will regret it if you buy a wii.. All those awsome multiplat games like Dead space,GTA4,COD4, Street fighter, Tekken 6, FF13, Assassins creed 2 etc and those great ps3 exclusives like MGS4, Uncharted, uncharted 2, Upcomming Killzone 2, Warhawk, Resistance 2, Wipeout HD, GT5, Upcomming FFv13, Upcomming God of war 3, Ratchet and Clank/Jak and daxter games and more will never come to the Wii. (And the fps's dont have auto aim)

You will regret buying a Wii...dont let sales figures make you buy one, cos those high sales of the Wii are all comming from a much bigger and completely diffrent audience.
