It's all about recovering the development costs these days and this latest installment cost an absolute fortune to develop, never mind the budget for the marketing campaign - that must have been truly staggering.
Quite a bit of hyperbole in that report but that's OK, Sony aren't going to complain.
They do seem to be on a role at the moment and maybe they have got it right this generation - only time will tell.
Both machines look to be technically identical but it's all about winning hearts and minds and in that area, Sony are definitely light years ahead of Microsoft at the moment - the fiasco with Don Mattrick leaving just as the XBone is announced and all the policy reversal is possibly one of the biggest marketing disasters in video game history - that shit is going to be talked about for years and Sony have simply capitalised on it - with tremendous effect I might add.
