I can't help feeling that the three executives that have left were commanding massive wages for doing absolutely nothing basically and that Mattrick just thought they were taking the piss.
I'll give him credit for that - outing out the deadwood from the company and weeding out the hangers on who really shouldn't be there.
Still doesn't hide the fact that Mattrick himself might follow suit this time next year.
It is incredible how Nintendo's fortunes seemingly have reversed overnight with the WiiU - everyone knew it wasn't going to repeat the stellar performance of the right time-right place Nintendo Wi.
I haven't seen anywhere near the massive advertising bombardment the WiU and DS systems got a couple of years ago - I mean their stuff was ruling the airwaves - everytime I switched my TV on, there was Ronan Keating playing his Nintendo product -you just don't see that now which leads me to believe they're not doing too good right now.
WiiU is absolutely dead in the water and no amount of PR and spin will save this thing - it's the exact antithesis of the original Wi console in every way.
As soon as Xbone and PS4 are released, the WiU will just get boxed up and put in the attic.
That must have been a very expensive cancellation.
Any other company would have crashed and burned after pulling out of production and it sounds like the game was well into development.
Says a lot about a company that was at the leading edge of first person shooters and game technology - considered by many to be the brightest star in the universe at one point but now, sadly, Id Software is just a mere flicker of light in a very dark universe.
