@dirtydyk: SSD cards will probably be more of a backup games storage option, if you plan on playing more than 3/4 games at any one time. I went for the 256GB version, thinking that will be more than enough for the top games to run directly of the nVME drive. Most (if not all) of the games seen running on the Steam Deck videos are running directly from SD cards. they're dirt cheap in the greater scheme of things, so storage and running games just won't be an issue.
@dirtydyk: To be fair, you've quoted the most expensive version at $650:00. It sounds worse when you quote the premium version. The entry level one is $399:00 with the middle variant (the one I reserved) at $529:00.
Honestly, I skipped last gen consoles in favour of PC gaming and I did consider a PS5 this time around but after seeing Valves Steam Deck, I've decided to skip this gen consoles as well.
Steam Deck fills that perfect cross-over for PC/Console gaming for me personally. Only problem is, I have to wait 6 months to get my hands on it :(
I think they probably bailed before the shit hit the fan proper. Basically jumping from a sinking ship.
One can only imagine what kind of untouchable culture there must have been going on in that studio because it sounds like a case of one bad word said to people at that level and you're basically out.
Say and do what you want and think you can get away with it.
