I'm really struggling to understand what the WiU has to offer this generation of console gamer.
Most people who have either a PS3 or 360 will have a decent library of AAA games already & both consoles provide excellent support and services that have been tweaked to perfection over the years - that's going to be a hard act to follow.
The WiU has entered PS3/360 territory just as people are now looking towards next gen consoles and I'll be really surprised if there's a large take-up with the WiU.
Look at the trouble Sony has had with the Vita - trying to convince the consumer that there was still a place for a new handheld console - this is the situation Nintendo find themselves in - trying to market a console that doesn't really stand a chance against the mighty PS3 & 360.
Nintendo brought out the Wii at just the right time in just the right financial climate and marketed it very cleverly.
I can't see that happening this time around, now they're trying to muscle in on the big boys console market and I honestly don't think they stand a chance.
It's all about the game library - hot new IP's and not re-releases of games I've already played - if the 3rd party support is anything less than absolutely stellar, this thing is dead in the water.
This is going to be one of those games that has a marketing budget that exceeds the development costs by a factor of ten at least and what they'll be JK Rowling, I don't want to even think about.
But I agree, it was the amount of time Sony dedicated to the E3 presentation that made me wonder (no pun intended) if they were putting all their eggs into one basket with this one.
I just hope they actually spend a bit of money developing the game and not riding off the back of Rowlings endorsement.
