@elozl: I look forward to playing it for much longer than 10 hours, possibly 10 times more than that. I'm not hating on it saying it is a bad game - I wasn't complaining about the gameplay, the look, the feel, or anything of the sort. My point was that it falters on the things that make it a Zelda game - to repeat myself, for example: the shrines are repetitive and seem to re-use the same wall textures. I don't think my playing it no matter how long will change atmosphere of the shrines, dungeons or the repetitive tests of strength.
I don't own BOTW yet, but I've watched many more hours than I care to admit of people playing this game on twitch and youtube. I am excited to get it and play it because I love Zelda games; however ...
SPOILERS! I think as much as the game succeeds in its art style and gameplay, it falters on its ability to be a Zelda game. Most of the Zelda tropes were not executed that well. I think the shrines are repetitive, the shrines & dungeons are bland and seem to re-use the same wall textures. Calamity Ganon is a joke - sure his damage is high but he's incredibly easy. Phase 2 Ganon doesn't even attack you. He shoots lazers out of his head in a forward direction, but most of the fight finds the player trying to shoot spots on his sides. It is almost hilariously bad...
I think this is a game that was well made to be huge, fun and playable, but they dropped the ball on a lot.
