@xdiru: In my opinion, Odyssey is miles better than Sunshine. Sunshine in fact is a bit overrated, just like 3D world. Best thing about sunshine were the platforming stages without fludd, which unfortunately were a small fraction of the game.

If you didn't have it on Wii U, buy it... if you already have it, wait for Mario Kart 9.

@LoveBird-: They may do both. They are actually doing it with Mario Kart now. I think it's obvious they must be working on a Mario Kart 9

@deviltaz35: The game is available on many other platforms now by the way, and you emulate it on a pc too.

So far, this game is ranked as the #1 game in game ranking's all-time best rank, with 37 reviews. It's probably safe to assume it'll land among the top 3-4. FWIW, the all-time best top 4 are Nintendo games: Breath of the wild, Mario Galaxy, Ocarina of Time and Mario Galaxy 2.

@xan114: Another, as in the second one after Ocarina of Time, which was released almost 20 years ago.

Good. I don't need to get a Switch just yet. Rather wait for when Mario Odyssey is released.

@Tiwill44: It's the same thing with Smash. They are most likely going to port Smash, but they will eventually release a new one down the line, so why bother? Personally, I have all those games on the Wii U and it's not worth it for me to get a game I already have. I'll be getting a Switch anyway because of Mario Odyssey, but I'll just wait for the new Smash and Mario Kart.

@jinzo9988: And they'll port Mario Maker too. That way they have their most succesfull games from the Wii U on the switch (smash, mario maker, mario kart and splatoon).

This is the most excited I've been for aMario game since Super Mario 64. 3D World was a huge dissapointment for me and while Galaxy was refreshing, it didn't have the same sense of exploration that Mario 64 had, but this game has that old feeling.

I would have liked to have an open world Mushroom Kingdom to explore, that could transition into "the real world", kind of how the old cartoon was, but this will do well enough. I think it will be like a space adventure in which Mario travells to different worlds outside of the Musrhoom Kingdom, kind of how Galaxy was but taking a further step away. I wasn't planning to get a Switch because I can play Zelda on my Wii U, but that Mario game is enough for me to justify the investment.
