Perhaps Sony will be smart and drop PC.

But their games were shit! That's why they spent 80 billion dollars acquiring studios that could make games 🤣
So console gamers get ripped for upgrading to the pro when their getting anywhere from 30% to 50% and in some cases nearly 2x the performance but you get to pay over $1000 for 10% ? 🤣🤣
Ill just stick with the PS5 pro until the PS6.
@ghostofgolden: I didn’t ask what games that Sony had on Xbox or what percentage of sales/spending that they accounted for. Also didn’t ask about their sales performance on PC.
I simply asked why Sony feels it is necessary to branch out from their PlayStation console and go multi platform. You have plenty of conjecture to throw in about Microsoft doing so. Surely you have some conjecture on why Sony is doing it as well.
PlayStation isn't doing what Xbox is doing. You can be disingenuous if you want. We see this kind of behavior all over Twitter. But they are not the same thing. Porting a game to PC many months to years after their console launch isn't the same as day and date on PC/other consoles and day 1 in a subscription service. Stop it. HellDivers 2 was there day one. HellDivers 2 was the epitome of a game that needed to be on PC day 1. That's the type of game that does well on PC. PC gamers don't care about TLOU, Days Gone, Spider-Man etc. HellDivers 2 outsold all of those combined on PC. PlayStation can see this, and knows they stand to gain more from potential console sales and PS Store control by getting PC gamers there than they do porting a game to PC where it will sell 200K copies MAYBE
translation: "it's different when PlayStation does it".. 🙄
Helldivers 2 sold 60% better on PC versus PlayStation.. how's that for "significant"?..
as far as the games PC gamers "don't care about": Horizon: Zero Dawn sold 2.4M copies on PC, Spiderman sold 1.5M copies on PC, God of War sold almost a million at 971K copies on PC, and Days Gone sold 852K copies on PC.. that's way more than "Maybe 200K"..
the only reason sales have cooled is because Sony has ran out of PS4 "bangers" to port over and not releasing games on Day One during the marketing hype will also hurt sales.. but to imply PC isn't significant for PlayStation is the very definition of "disingenuous"..
Yea that's not true. The reason Playstation sales cooled was because Sony started requiring people to have PSN accounts to own their games and PC gamers will never do that because they have this cult like loyalty to Steam.
that too.. definitely a typo on my part since i said "only" yet listed multiple reasons..
though, i'm curious as to why this isn't a problem for Xbox.. don't certain Xbox titles require an Xbox Live account login on Steam?..
Not recently.
Sometimes publishers will release reports of how many games they sold on each platform. Depending on the game either Playstation or Steam always has the most copies. The Xbox version are always a fraction of the other platforms sales which leads me to believe that most people who log into an Xbox account for PC are doing so for Gamepass.
