Dragon Age should have ended iwth Origins. The series has practically been defined by an identity crisis since the first one.
Even then, Dragon Age was always just... bad. With Origins being a poor man's Neverwinter Nights.
Idunno, I like the lore and setting. I think the Dragon Age IP had a solid foundation. Ferelden is cool, the factions are neat, the dynamic between humans, elves, dwarves, and qunari is interesting.
Came out at a bad time, right when EA was really kind of going full "corporate takeover". You see it in the Command and Conquer games, too, that released then. Death by a thousand cuts, slow deterioration. We look at the games at the time and say "This is bad" but then the next game comes out and we say "Well the last game wasn't that bad, this is worse". I said it about DA:O because it wasn't a Baldur's Gate of NWN game; I said it about DA2 because it wasn't DA:O....I like DA: I though, thought it was best in the series though I'm alone there rofl.
Agree that AAA isn't sustainable, gotta get rid of the "eggs in one basket" approach and start making new IPs, more new projects, smaller studios and less funding...take some gambles. Just my $0.02 and what I want to see, not really basing that on anything, but it works for indies!

you mean like every other party based RPG?
"No no no, we can't pick from the actual reasons this game is bad, we have to make one up that serves our agenda"
