So I'm trying to help my lil bro upgrade his PC. It's pretty old, has an Athlon 64 x2 5000 cpu, 4gb ddr2 ram, and a gt 430 1gb gpu I believe. He can barely get 30fps on guild wars 2 at the lowest settings and resolution of 1024x768 and wvw is impossible. I have about £150 to spend. Now ideally I'd spend over double that, get him a new CPU like an i5 3570k, mobo, ram and a card like a hd 7770, but right now due to my budget I can't do that. So my question is, would he see any benefit at all by just replacing the gt 430 with a newer card? Bearing in mind he's not going to be playing crysis 3 on max, mainly just wow/guild wars 2/saints row/tf 2 kind of stuff. Or should I go with my instincts and spend the £150 on an i3 3220, new mobo, and ram, and use the gt430, and upgrade the graphics card at a later date? I'm pretty sure this would be more beneficial in the long run, but I just wanted some feedback on if you agree. Many thanks!

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions guys, it does look like I'm leaning towards the gpu upgrade. Apologies for not mentioning earlier but my PSU is a corsair cx500, the case is just some cheap tower I got from a local shop. And my motherboard is an Asus P8H61-MX.Â

Can any of you knowledgable gamespotters recommend what I spend my money on? I have a budget gaming PC with an i3 3220 cpu, 7750 1gb gpu, 8 gigs of ram. It's not setting the world alight on fire but it can run most modern games at 1920x1080 with middle-ish settings, but ocassionaly I'll run into games like crysis or witcher 2 where I have to start turning things down to get a good frame rate. So I have about £200 to spend, would it be more beneficial to me to upgrade to an i5 cpu or should I change the gpu? I'll probably end up doing both in future but what would see the best increase in performance initially? Thanks! =]
Glad to see someone else liked The Longest Journey, one of the best adventure games I've played for sure! I know the Witcher 1+2 sold pretty well but I'm finding it tough to find anyone I know who has played them or even heard of the series. My friends are such Bioware fanboys they stick their noses up to anything else :(Â
So I love the crysis series but for some reason I'm finding it hard to get excited for crysis 3, and it didn't receive the high end praise that earlier games did. Anyone played it/can recommend it's worth the new release price?

seriously dude chill out...it's just a forum post, regardless of whether you think it is stupid you can still voice your opinion without being rude or condescending.
No one is having an issue installing from a disc...the problem is that origin/steam literally do not allow you to use the install data from the discs, so you have to install the full game on top of patches/updates, so the point I was making was why do they bother making physical copies?
p.s judging from your douchey responses here is a video I recommend you watch
