Yeah 700k in 2 days is bad. Wow people are reaching...I am about to give up.
Kahuna_1
Only 700,000 World wide, yeah, those are horrible sales for the most hyped game for 2007, 2008 & 2009.
I guess the demo kept people from buying it!

Very damning, damaging info to PS3 owners and Killzone 2 supporters if true.

So, the fastest selling PS3 game in the UK has been GT 5 Prologue
and it sold this many in all of Europe
in 2 days (just like our NPD numbers)
meaning that Killzone 2 sold less than 300,000 in the U.K.
Wow, I just read the articles and
article 1.) 3/2/2009 KZ2 sold well but did'nt beat out GT5 for the fastest selling game in the UK
article 2.) 4/2/2008 GT5 sold 300,000 in all of europe (not just the uk) in its first 2 days
I gues VG charts was right.
Maybe Sony lied about the 1.1 million pre-orders, or were those just store orders?
Exactly, someone read the links! If an article in March of 2009 says that Killzone 2 did not beat GT5 and GT5 sold only 300,000 copies in all of Europe in 2 days that means that Killzone 2 only sold about 700,000 world wide in its first 2 days.. horrible sales:lol:
There is no PS3 game that can outsell a GT game. The GT series have sold over 50 million units since the first Gran Turismo.
Trinners
Well, I think you may have missed the point.
Killzone 2 DID NOT SELL 1.1 MILLION COPIES IN THE UK.
Did you read the articles? I put the links up for your convenience.
Killzone 2 sold LESS THAN 300,000 copies in ALL OF EUROPE in its first 2 days.

GT5 = Well Known IP
KZ2 = Not well known, like GTA3 or LBP.
Comparison Fail.
GT5 Prologue article was written on April 2nd 2008, stating that it was the fastest selling PS3 game, and then he links an article from this year stating that Killzone 2 is 4th fastest selling. Anyone else see a problem? There could have been any number of fastest selling games in between.
Cute, but thats not going to work...
The first article is from MARCH 2ND 2009
you have been owned!

I just did my web reearch and found out that Killzone 2 sold LESS THAN 350,000 copies in its first two days in the UK.
So, there ya go...
To clear up the situation: When talking about Pre-orders you have to keep in mind that there are user-preorders and shop-preorders.User-preorders are the copies preordered by actual gamers who want to buy the game at the first day.
Retail-preorders are the copies preorderd by shops / retailers --> these copies do not always sell during the first days, it is just the number of units lying in stores.

[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]I really wanna see some quotes of KZ2 being a "savior" for the PS3...TheNextOrder
It's easier just to say it instead of just backing it up. :P
What am I supposed to do... go look for links about every idiotic comment made on how we should all just "wait for Killzone 2" or comments about how KZ2 would help PS3 steamroll the 360? ... comments made as far back as when the first trailer was shown at E3...we all know many of these comments exist on this site database and on gaming forums across the web...just don't expect me to spend my time looking for them. They are denying the numbers + now they are denying the hype = Fanboys
No matter what huge amount of snowballing facts we have they'll stay aboad that sinking ship!
First day sales flop! they... say wait till the entirety of next month
We say, look at all the hype, there was countless threads made to praise the game and say that it would bring back the PS3... they say, what hype?
We say look at the facts, the PS3 is selling less even with this game out and a lower price tag... they say, we never said this would sell systems
So, if they never said it would sell like MGS4, GTAIV (on the PS3) or Halo on its launch day AND they never said it would sell systems AND they never hyped it at 9.5, why spend hours protecting it ifthey never thought it would be that good anyway?
[QUOTE="elpoep"][QUOTE="Episode_Eve"] I have read them and I responded. You keep comparing it to 2 days worth of sales in NA. Do you not see what's wrong with that?
I've said this before: When world wide numbers come in and numbers are extremely low for KZ2, THEN haters will have proper and logical ammo to call Killzone 2 a *SALES FLOP*. As of now, this is ridiculous.
Episode_Eve
So, why dont you compare this big, Halo killer title with the big boys?
We have sales data for day one (AS IN 1 DAY) for some of the biggest titles out there.
What you are implying is that Killzone 2 is in a lower c1ass.. that it cant hang with other big titles on day one sales.
Just because the hard, cold sales facts don't fit your argument don't go looking for piddly little excuses.
1.) It was never hyped "halo-killer". Don't translate a few outmoded fanboys comments into general "hype/expectations" That brand was given to the game by a British journalist who first saw Killzone 1 behind closed doors back in 2003. 2.) It was hyped to be a graphical showcase and set standards on consoles (which it obviously is). 3.) WTF are you talking about? What am I talking about?
Since you dont understand let me explain it to you in even simpler terms.
Game A, B, C and D are all big budget (like $60 million), hyped or talked about by the develpoers and publishers for over 3.5 years.
Game A, B and C all sell 3 times more than Game D does on the very first day the game goes on sale.

I think we each have our own personal strengths may it be my brevity or...
Thing is, i know there is one lund84_6 and he has posted over 25 times in my thread while i've post maybe 8 times...
I'm glad you appreciate my work.
Thing is, Killzone 2 didn't make any day 1 sales records, and sold worse than RFOM2 on its forst day and nothing you can type will change that.
resistance fall of man 2? ive never played that game before...i didnt even know it was real! resistance also came out during the holidays...
Resistance 2 sold more on launch day than Killzone 2... are you happy?
Still doesn't change the fact that Killzone 2 was hyped for three and a half years and didn't doany better.
Be a man, deal with it and go play some games (unless you really rather type about KZ2 than play it because its so boring?);)
[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]
These are literally the worst fanboys I've seen in a LONG time.
And if not fanboys...you can reduce it down to the worst arguments ever.
