I think 720p is good enough for 32 inch. If you're planning to play it on 1080p, get a bigger one. And the fact that most of the games only play 720p. Don't be fooled and waste money for nothing. IMO

Help, my ps3 is 160gb asian, the screen flickers (not very noticeable, but you can still see it and its irritating) especially when in black xmb. i only set it at 720p because my hdtv resolution is only 1366x768. im thinking of changing my component cable to hdmi cable, but im scared because i hear a lot of people complaining about their 160gb getting the RSOD (red screen of death) when they configure it to hdmi. any advice on how should i do it? and also about the audio output, how should i set it? (i only have the tv, no home theater, external speakers, etc)

I just hope that it will not be region locked in the future. Almost all of my games are R1, but my console is asian version.

They said they will limit the use of any particular SOFTWARE. "North American games will not play in the systems designed for other regions, such as, Japan, Europe, etc."

So what does "Sony Computer Entertainment has implemented a territorial-based distribution system for its hardware and software. This limits the use of any particular software to play on the console designated for that distribution territory (e.g. North American games will not play in the systems designed for other regions, such as, Japan, Europe, etc.)" mean?

Sent an inquiry to sony about their product, they replied and the part of their message is: In the meantime, please be aware that due to different television and voltage standards, and a variety of licensing issues, Sony Computer Entertainment has implemented a territorial-based distribution system for its hardware and software. This limits the use of any particular software to play on the console designated for that distribution territory (e.g. North American games will not play in the systems designed for other regions, such as, Japan, Europe, etc.). We do not have any information on adapters or converters made to override territorial restrictions. The various PlayStation(R) consoles and format software titles are only designed to run in their respective regions and countries. What does that mean? Games will be region locked??

3.00 or 3.01? Currently using 3.00 w/o any issues, but I heard that 3.00 can cause problems to hardware (lens issues). Which one is more stable? Not only for now, but for the use in the future w/o failure in my hardware related to firmware.

Hi guys, newbie here.. Got some questions for the ps3. A little help from you will be much appreciated. How reliable is the 160gb ps3? Are there any issues like BDL, YLOD, RSOD, etc.. Recommended playing time? Component cable for ps3 - Is it safe to use third party component cable for the ps3? I bought a component cable (2in1 component, composite, gold plated) but it seems that sometimes I see lines on my screen. I think its static. And sometimes, the color changes automatically. Is there any way to fix this? (not replacing the cable, cant use HDMI cable coz I'm still using sdtv) How can I prevent moisture on my ps3? My ps3 is placed in an open area inside my air-conditioned room, the temperature is not set to the max (just the normal, comfortable temp). the problem is when I wake up in the morning, I see moisture on the top of my ps3. I heard that this is bad and may cause problems. How can I prevent it from moisture? Even on normal temp of the a/c, if it is running on long time, moist can still build up. That issue is just because of the a/c in my room. If it is not running, no moisture. Thanks!
