@sladakrobot: Some games do it well like Breath of The Wild, others not so much. But I know a couple that are fantastic because they implement the system well enough that it’s engaging.
@Thanatos2k: You said you are sure no one likes hunger systems in Survival games and I responded that the general opinion about that is split. Some do like it, some don’t. The non casual to hardcore seem to enjoy it.
Also it’s better to have the options since not everyone likes an easy game. I myself don’t enjoy an easy game all the time. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Btw “Don’t Starve” is one of the most popular survival games ever made.
@daidochus: I was actually impressed by the way they approached story telling. They took a lot of risk and hijacked players against their will in some cases. This as you can see did not go over well with some players.
They could have approached the story in TLOU: PII and its themes a million other ways I'm sure, but this is what we got. That said...
Rumor has it Naughty Dog is now working on some Sci-fi thriller. Watch out for that.
GameSpot I think Valheim is fine. But I believe "The Long Dark" by Hinterland and "Don't Starve (Together)" by Klei are far better titles than this game or any of the other titles you've mentioned.
@vorlon: You got it, Also look out for Returnal, and RE Village coming soon.
If you want something to play now, and do enjoy games like Odin Sphere or Muramasa: The Demon Blade, you can go ahead and check out the demo for 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. A pretty high quality game with a lot going for it.
@vorlon: I have not played the latest Spiderman, but looking at it objectively, outside of playing the game, I think you could expect to get lots of enjoyment from it. Specially as a fan of Spiderman or action games in general.
