Worst argument for legalization is jumping on alcohol. For the record, alcohol in moderation is healthy. Not harmful. If you're going to argue that way...next you'll say water is worse.

LJS9502_basic

Cannabis is beneficial in moderation as well.It has been shown to reduce the chances of Alzheimer's.

Anyway, on to my main point,

I'm sure its been said by some like minded individual but what right does the governement have to tell me how to live my life, i should be able to choose to take any substance i wish in the privacy of my own homeso long as i don't harm others. And i know someone will go on about driving under the influence and they'd be right but i'm not advocating DUI, i'm advocating personal freedoms, the right to do as you wish in your own home.

The reason cannabis was made illegal in the first place was as a way to keep down Mexican immigrants in to the US in the early 20th century. All the medical propaganda came after that as a justification

Lotro: the third age has the worst ending ending ever. The last third is just fight after fight then you have to go up against the Eye of Sauron (which is amazingly lame) and when you beat it the game justends with a rubbish speech and some random clips from the film

This better be a good game after the shambles that was Red Steel. FPS's on the Wii should be incredible, there really isnt an excuse for Ubi Soft of all companies to release a bad shooter so they had better get their act together for this one. They don't often disappoint so it might be turn out ok

There is no proof for creationism. To believe in that theory or intelligent design you have to believe the earth is 10,000 years old. 10,000 years old. That is, frankly, preposterous. There is undeniable proof that the earth is far far older.

I think it much more likely that life began when very basic organic material was brought to earth by meteor impact than by a god

lompocus

You here have a Catholic who believes both. Explain yourself.

And what can say that even basic reactions in teh big bang or w/e started the universe were not set by God?

Think of it as a program....You input a couple of variables, allow for a bit of randomness, and POOF you got asteroids flying everywhere, thermonuclear reactions creating stars occuring, and *gasp!* LIFE!

Edit: Hmm, looks like I got to go. If you respond and I don't, dont think you got me in a spot I can't defend. I simply need sleep after 2AM. I'll reply tomorrow *dies on the keyboard*

I think you sort of missed the point of my post, i wasnt discussing the big bang.

I was talking about the fact that intelligent design is a rather wishy washy way of getting around the fact that evolution and creation are effectively mutually exclusive. If you believe in creation by god then you should believe the biblical time scale for the age of the earth which as i said is preposterous.

Also, the bible makes no reference to evolution or intelligent design. Why not? If that was part of the whole plan surely there would be something in there about it

"Real" democracy isn't anarchy, its the system of the ancient Greeks like Plato.  But your right when you say it can't exist on a large scale because it requires the participation of all citizens in the process of government.

As a point of interest, How many of you of voting age plan to vote next year?
