I mean jump HK. And thats exactly what I did. As soon as I tapped up, I help down so that I could do the SBK right after the HP but Dan keeps blocking it.
Keeps blocking what? The heavy punch or the spinning bird kick? If it's the punch, that'd be because you're not kicking him as close to the ground as possible to stagger him long enough to get the punch in. If it's the kick, either your timing on the / + kick is off (should be just after the punch connects) or you're using a heavy kick when you should be using a medium or light.
Personally, I just avoid charge characters. Of the non-grappling characters, I find Cody to be the easiest to play as. His criminal upper is criminally awesome. 8)
The SBK. No matter how I time the first two moves, Dan always blocks the SBK.
