Whether it is broken or not, he should still send it in. The fan is thermally controlled and shouldnt spin up unless the hardware is running very hot. Your PS3 is probably still running because the hardware was designed to handle high temperatures but that doesnt mean they should. To the OP, your PS3's fans are spinning faster and louder than normal. That is a problem. Why not send it in if your PS3 is still under warranty? You wont have to regret not doing so in the future.I think your good man, dont worry about it. My PS3 fan is going pretty much all the time and it works flawlessly. I've had it since December 07.
