Shadow of the Colossus and Prince of Persia 2008 are two of the most deep, and unique I've ever come across in gaming. Hell, there is a write-up on GameFAQ's that details the plot of Shadow of the Colossus and analyzes all its intricacies... and its over 80 pages long.

And despite what other people might tell you, PoP08 has a much deeper narrative than it lets on. On the surface, it is very simple, but as soon as you start delving into the background (Zoroastrianism) you can see how much incredible detail went into everything from the character design, to the plot, to the graphics and world design. It is astounding to be quite honest.

Thanks Ill definitely be checking out Shadow of the Colossus. Prince of Persia, Ill see. A little skeptical on that.

What are some games from any platform any generation with very deep well written stories? No generic "guy saves world from alien invasion" games. And to set the bar, lets just say Heavy Rain had a bad story. Go.

Uhh, what? Are you forbbiding us from using HR because you didn't like it?

I liked it a lot but it wasnt a very deep story. Guy searching for his kidnapped son with a plot twist. Dont get worked up ok.

Update:No offense to the contributors but most of you guys are posting games with very shallow stories. I excluded Heavy Rain because although the story was somewhat good, it wasnt deep and complex. Games like Bioshock, Infamous, Halo shouldnt even be listed here.

Im looking for a game with a story as deep and complex as the MGS series. Or something with as much meaning as Xenogears. Thats why I said not your typical "guy saves world from aliens". Halo, Bioshock, Alan Wake, etc. These are all games with shallow stories. Its your typical guy fights monsters, guy suffering from paranormal disorder story with a cheap plot twist. Thats not what Im looking for.

Anyone with the Samsung T260HD (or T2X0 series) notice that when using HDMI mode, images look washed out and grainy compared to DVI mode? Ive compared images in fullscreen mode on my computer through DVI with the same images on my PS3 through HDMI and there DEFINITELY is a difference.

Ive also compared my computer through DVI to my computer through HDMI. Same thing.

Its probably going to be packaged with the PSN+. Free for PSN+ subscribers. Fee for regular PSN members.

It should be free for everyone IMO. Hulu still cashes in on the ads. And Sony will only benefit from this.

The PS3 is a Nissan. The Xbox 360 is a Toyota with the faulty brake that needs to be recalled.
