@Foolsgold89 @ernelson1976 I bought a 360 for Mass Effect. I'll likely buy one of these consoles when a game comes out that I want that's only on one console. But the PS4's price is probably what will get me. Online play? I don't really do that, so it doesn't figure personally in my choice. But it will for quite a few gamers.
@Double-Ego @ernelson1976 @tomservo51 Read what I said. They're not huge to me, which is all I'm claiming. Getting bent out of shape because someone doesn't have the same perspective is a waste of your time. For me, the policy differences are miniscule. They don't figure into whether I will buy a console or not, and I suspect that's true of a lot of gamers. They're only "fucking huge" to you. Not to me.
@Double-Ego @ernelson1976 @tomservo51 Like I said, from a practical perspective, none of this matters to me. I sell to Gamestop when I sell games. Which is what most people do. I don't generally lend games, or borrow them. By the time games have been sold once, they've lost most of their value. Again, from a practical perspective, this matters very little to me, and will matter very little to most gamers. The PS4 is probably the better of the two consoles--but not for these policy reasons.
@Double-Ego @ernelson1976 @tomservo51 Point out the differences, then. Practically speaking, there isn't much difference at all from where I'm standing.
@wdma @tomservo51 We still know virtually nothing, and have little more than Sony's word that this will happen. We're likely to get very few games at first.
@tomservo51 @ernelson1976 I don't mind it either, for the same reason. But there is a lot of selective reporting going on that irks me. There's no one taking a holistic look at both consoles. Everyone is firmly in Sony's camp, based on perceptions of "listening to the consumer" that have more to do with how they reported on rumors about the Xbox One than about actual facts.
In the end, Sony's policies aren't that different from MS, and yet ... we get articles like this. Very strange.
