Call Of Duty: World At War - Treyarch

PLOT

The game begins in Makin Island at night on August 17, 1942. Private Miller watches the torture and execution of a fellow marine by the Japanese. Miller is rescued by a rescue squad, led by Corporal Roebuck and Sergeant Sullivan just as they assault the island, replicating the Makin Island raid. The following mission then starts two years later at the beginning of the Battle of Peleliu. After breaking through the Japanese lines on the Peleliu beach, Miller destroys two Type 95 tanks with rocket strikes, allowing their tanks to advance. At the end of the mission, Sergeant Sullivan is killed by a Japanese soldier. Roebuck, now promoted to Sergeant, and his squad make their way through the Peleliu swamps to launch an assault on a Japanese held airfield to disable anti-aircraft guns. During the assault, Miller acquires a flamethrower and a bazooka.

The game then jumps to the Eastern Front on September 17, 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad. Private Dimitri Petrenko regains consciousness in a fountain, just as German troops kill his comrades. When they leave, Dimitri meets Sergeant Reznov, another survivor, who tells him of his intention to kill General Heinrich Amsel, the man behind massacres all over Russia. After killing some German soldiers in their way, Dimitri follows Reznov through buildings and streets and they meet up with the remainder of Dimitri's unit, who are about to assault Amsel's communication post. During the assault, Dimitri snipes Amsel. He and Reznov escape and jump into the Volga River. The following mission starts three years later, during the Battle of the Seelow Heights, near Berlin. Dimitri has been captured by German soldiers in an old barn. He is saved when the Red Army attack the barn. Among them is Sergeant Reznov and his subordinate, Private Chernov. Together the Soviet troops advance through German lines and Dimitri aids them with a Panzerschreck until they reach a German camp.

The game returns to the Pacific Theater. On Peleliu, the Americans are pushing further inland. Miller and his unit take out enemy mortar crews, so their tanks can go inland. They then proceed through the Japanese underground tunnels to attack The Point, one of the major Japanese strongholds, allowing their ships to advance, and the island of Peleliu falls into American hands

The following mission campaign returns to Eastern Europe, where Dimitri and Reznov are at the controls of a T-34 tank and pushing through German lines. The Soviet troops then board a train to Berlin. Upon arrival, they engage German soldiers on the outskirts of Berlin, commencing the Battle of Berlin. They then advance through the streets, killing any soldiers who stand in their way and taking no prisoners and, eventually, the Soviet soldiers reach the entrance to the Berlin U-Bahn, where three German soldiers are attempting to capitulate. Reznov is unwilling to deny his men their revenge and gives Dimitri the choice of determining their method of death - he and Chernov can shoot them, or the soldiers can burn them alive with Molotov cocktails. They head into the U-Bahn and start fighting German soldiers around the platforms, until a surge of water fills the tunnel and Dimitri, unable to avoid the oncoming tidal wave, almost drowns.

The game then shifts back to the Pacific during the Battle of Okinawa, where the player takes control of Petty Officer Locke in a PBY Catalina flying boat, which takes part in a raid on three merchant ships. On their way back to base, the US fleet is assaulted and Locke's boat, which is the only surviving boat near enough to come to immediate aid, arrives. They are able to rescue American sailors in the sea, while Locke shoots at Japanese PT boats and kamikaze planes. With the flying boat almost completely destroyed, more US aircraft arrive. The following mission, Miller's squad makes a ground assault on Okinawa. They clear out the Japanese from machine gun bunkers, allowing American tanks to progress. With the battle almost won, the Americans storm Shuri Castle. Once they clear out the soldiers at the main entrance, they finally reach the centre of the castle. Once there, they encounter some Japanese soldiers surrendering. However, when Roebuck and Polonsky go to search them, they reveal concealed grenades under their clothes. Depending on who Miller rescues, either of the two is killed. The surviving soldiers attack the castle and, after Miller calls in air strikes on two buildings, the Americans finally take Shuri Castle.

The final mission starts as Reznov drags Dimitri out of the U-Bahn to regroup with Soviet infantry. Then Reznov takes Chernov's diary, criticizing him by remarking, "No one will ever read this!", and tasks Chernov with bearing the Soviet flag. The Red Army then advances towards the Reichstag. Dimitri destroys 88mm guns to allow their tanks to advance and take out the remaining German infantry defending the entrance to the Reichstag. During the battle, Chernov was killed by a German flamethrower. Before leaving, a devastated Reznov takes Chernov's diary with him and says "Dimitri, someone should read this." and it is revealed what Chernov's true opinion of Dimitri is - depending on how cold-blooded he has been, he will either declare him a savage, or a hero as Reznov says. They then clear the Reichstag of its defenders until they reach the rooftop. Before he can replace the Nazi flag Dimitri is shot by a German soldier. Reznov comes to his aid and kills the German before helping Dimitri up. Dimitri, although visibly wounded, manages to plant the Soviet flag, signalling Soviet victory, and Reznov proclaims Dimitri a hero. A final cutscene details the end of the European war, the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the peace accord signed as a result, including excerpts from General MacArthur's speech

Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare

PLOT

The game starts with Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish beginning his career with the British SAS at a training camp in Credenhill, U.K. There, he trains for a cargo ship raid.

After they board the ship, located in the Bering Sea, Soap, Captain Price, Gaz, and several SAS members attempt to find a nuclear device on board. As they clear the ship and kill the Russian soldiers aboard, the ship is attacked by Russian MiGs and begins to sink. The team escapes with the cargo manifest, which provides evidence of ties between the Russian Ultranationalist Party and a rebel faction in the Middle East.

Russian Ultranationalist leader Imran Zakhaev, who plans to return his motherland to the times of the Soviet Union, draws international attention away from his plans by funding a coup d'état in an unnamed Middle Eastern country, organized by a local separatist leader named Khaled Al-Asad. Discovering the plot, the American government starts a police action to stop the uprising, while the SAS continues to operate in Russia. After President Al-Fulani of the Middle Eastern country is executed on live television and Al-Asad takes control, the SAS rescue their compromised agent, Nikolai, from Russian Ultranationalist forces.

In the American invasion of the Middle Eastern country, a platoon from the USMC 1st Force Recon, led by Lieutenant Vasquez, deploys to search for Al-Asad, but are too late, and proceed to aid other American units fighting the separatists. During the final stages of the operation, United States Central Command learns of Al-Asad's position in the capital, but is also notified by SEAL Team Six of a Russian nuclear weapon nearby, and sends the Nuclear Emergency Support Team to disarm it. However, the nuclear device suddenly detonates, leveling most of the city and killing everyone in the area. Vasquez's squad makes a last minute rescue of a pilot from a downed AH-1 Cobra helicopter and is caught in the blast, resulting in the squad members' deaths.

The British learn that Al-Asad fled the country before the American invasion, and is hiding in a safe house in Azerbaijan. With the help of Nikolai's intelligence and assistance from Loyalist Russian soldiers, the SAS clear the village of the Ultranationalist forces and capture and interrogate Al-Asad at his safe house. After listening to the voice calling Al-Asad's phone, Captain Price executes Al-Asad, now knowing that Zakhaev is Al-Asad's backer. Price then has a flashback of his mission to eliminate Zakhaev in Prypiat, Ukraine, 15 years earlier.

In the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster and the collapse of the Soviet Union, Zakhaev took advantage of the turmoil to profit from nuclear proliferation and used his new wealth to lure soldiers from the Soviet Army to form his Ultranationalist Party. In 1996, Price was paired with Captain MacMillan, a Scottish SAS captain, to carry out the black op assassination of Zakhaev. After sneaking into Prypiat and taking up a position in an abandoned hotel, MacMillan spotted Zakhaev, and Price hit him with a shot from a .50 BMG sniper rifle, but Zakhaev survived, losing an arm. Price and MacMillan were pursued, but escaped, with MacMillan sustaining an injured leg in the process.

Back in the present day, a joint operation is conducted by Price's SAS unit, a USMC Force Recon unit led by Staff Sergeant Griggs, and Loyalist Russian forces led by Sergeant Kamarov, to stop Zakhaev. They capture his son Victor, to learn of Zakhaev's whereabouts, but as they corner him, Victor commits suicide to avoid being captured. Zakhaev becomes enraged, blaming Western nations for the death of his son, and plans to retaliate by launching ballistic missiles armed with nuclear warheads at the East Coast of the United States, with predicted losses of over 41 million people. When the Task Force operatives arrive at the facility in Russia, Zakhaev manages to launch ICBMs towards the United States. However, the squad successfully seizes the silo command room and remote detonates the missiles over the Atlantic. They escape the facility in military trucks with Zakhaev's forces in hot pursuit.

Before the squad can escape across a nearby bridge, it is destroyed by an Mi-24 Hind, leaving them trapped. Zakhaev's forces arrive and engage the remaining members of the strike force. Gaz receives a call from Kamarov, informing him that his forces are on their way to help. On the bridge, a gas tanker explodes, incapacitating most of the soldiers nearby, except Griggs, who is killed while trying to pull MacTavish to safety. Zakhaev, along with two of his soldiers, begin executing Gaz and other surviving members of the strike force. Before he reaches Soap and Price, he is distracted by the destruction of his gunship and the arrival of the Loyalist helicopters. As Zakhaev looks away, Price slides his pistol to Soap, who shoots and kills Zakhaev and his two guards. When Kamarov and his team arrive, MacTavish is evacuated to safety, while a Russian medic attempts to resuscitate Price.

Fallout

PLOT

Fallout is set several decades after a worldwide conflict brought on by global petroleum shortage. Several nations begin warring with one another for the last stores of nonrenewable resources, namely oil and uranium. Known as the Resource Wars, fighting begins in April of 2052 and continues until October 23, 2077. China invades Alaska in the winter of 2066, causing the United States to go to war with China and using Canadian resources to supply their war efforts, despite Canadian complaints. Eventually the US annexes Canada in February of 2076 and reclaims Alaska eleven months later. After years of conflict, on October 23, 2077, a global nuclear attack occurs. Nobody knows who strikes first, but in less than two hours most major cities are destroyed. The effects of the attack will not fade for the next 100 years. As a consequence, humanity lives in underground Vaults though some people affected by the radiation live topside.

The game takes place in 2161 in Southern California and begins in Vault 13, the protagonist's home. Vault 13's Water Chip, a computer chip responsible for the water recycling and pumping machinery, breaks. The Vault Overseer tasks the protagonist with finding a replacement. He is given a portable device called the "PIPBoy 2000" that keeps track of mapmaking, quest objectives, and bookkeeping. Armed with the PIPBoy 2000 and meager equipment, including a small sum of bottle caps which are used as currency in the post-apocalyptic world, the main character is sent off on his quest.

The player initially has 150 game days before the Vault's water supply runs out. This time limit can be extended by 100 game days if he commissions merchants in the Hub to send water caravans to Vault 13. Upon returning the chip, the Vault Dweller is then tasked with destroying a mutant army that threatens humanity. A mutant known as "The Master" (previously known as Richard Grey) spreads a pre-war, genetically engineered virus called the "Forced Evolutionary Virus" to convert humanity into a race of "Super Mutants" and bring them together in the "Unity" — his plan for a perfect world. The player must kill him and destroy the military base housing the supply of FEV, thus halting the invasion before it can start.

If the player does not complete both objectives within 500 game days, the mutant army will discover Vault 13 and invade it, bringing an end to the game. This time limit is shortened to 400 days if the player divulged Vault 13's location to the water merchants. A cinematic cut-scene of mutants overrunning the vault is shown if the player fails to stop the mutant army within this time frame, indicating the player has lost the game. If the player agrees to join the mutant army, the same cinematic is shown

The player can defeat the Master and destroy the Super Mutants' Military Base in either order. When both threats are eliminated, a cut-scene ensues in which the player automatically returns to Vault 13. There he is told that he has changed too much and his return would negatively influence the citizens of the Vault. Thus he is rewarded with exile into the desert, for, in the Overseer's eyes, the good of the vault. There is an alternate ending in which the Vault Dweller draws a handgun and shoots the Overseer after he is told to go into exile. This ending is inevitable if the player has the "Bloody Mess" trait or has accrued significant negative karma throughout the game. It can be triggered if the player initiates combat in the brief time after the Overseer finishes his conversation but before the ending cut-scene.

Fallout 3

PLOT

The main quest begins after the player escapes Vault 101 at age 19. The search for James, the player's father, takes the character on a journey through the wasteland, first to the nearby town of Megaton, named for the undetonated atomic bomb at its center, then the Galaxy News Radio station. The player then travels to Rivet City, a derelict aircraft carrier now serving as a human settlement. Here the player meets Doctor Li, a scientist who worked alongside the player's father. Doctor Li tells the player of Project Purity, a plan to remove the radiation from the water of the Tidal Basin as a means of restoring the environment and improving the lives of those inhabiting the wasteland.

After investigating the former lab of Project Purity, which is housed in the remains of the Jefferson Memorial, the player tracks James to Vault 112, and frees him from a virtual reality program being run by the Vault's corrupt Overseer. The player and James return to Rivet City and meet up with Doctor Li. They discuss the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K.) and its possible whereabouts, which are rumored to be in Project Purity's computer database. However, while the player helps James restart the lab equipment, the Enclave (the post-war United States government) arrives and attempts to take over the project for their own purposes. During a confrontation, James sacrifices himself and kills several Enclave soldiers by overloading Project Purity's main chamber with lethal amounts of radiation. After fleeing the lab through underground tunnels, Li and the player arrive at the Citadel of the Brotherhood of Steel, which is in the ruins of the Pentagon. After recovering, Li pleads with the player to find a G.E.C.K. to finish James' work. The player eventually finds one in Vault 87, which had been dedicated to creating and perfecting the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus), and is the source of the Super Mutants in the Capital Wasteland. With the aid of Fawkes, a Super Mutant , the player acquires the G.E.C.K., but is ambushed by the Enclave during his/her exit and captured.

Awakening in a holding cell in the Enclave base at Raven Rock, the player is briefly interrogated by Colonel Autumn and then summoned to the office of President John Henry Eden, who promises safe passage to his control room. While the player is en route, however, Colonel Autumn, acting against Eden, orders the Enclave soldiers to attack, and the player must fight its way to the control room. There, Eden, who turns out be a supercomputer given control of the East Coast of the United States, gives the player a modified form of the FEV virus, which will kill all individuals with any level of mutation, and requests that the player insert it into Project Purity.

The player escapes Raven Rock and eventually to the Citadel. The Brotherhood of Steel enlist the player's aid in assaulting the Jefferson Memorial with Sarah Lyons, the leader of an elite squad of Brotherhood Knights, and a gigantic pre-war robot named Liberty Prime. After breaking through to Project Purity, the player must deal with Colonel Autumn through violence or persuasion. Through the building's intercom, Doctor Li informs the player that due to the damage caused by the recent fight, someone must activate the system before it overloads, destroying the facility. Unfortunately, the one who activates the system will have to be sacrificed due to the chamber being close to overwhelmed by lethal amounts of radiation. In the end, the player has the option to enter the chamber, convincing Sarah Lyons to do it, requesting Fawkes to do it as radiation has no effect on him or simply waiting for the system to overload. The ending sequence that follows depends on the player's actions in the game, and whether the Broken Steel downloadable content has been installed

My Top 10 Games Of All Time - Number 4

Jak II

PLOT

The game begins with Jak and Daxter, the protagonists, and Samos, their guardian, watching as Keira, Samos' daughter and Jak's love interest, demonstrate the Rift Rider and Precursor Rift Gate that they found in the previous game. When activated, the Rift opens a portal that the four of them are flung through. They arrive in Haven City, which is under the command of Baron Praxis, who is at war with a race of beasts called Metal Heads. They are separated on arrival, and Jak is captured by Praxis' Krimzon Guard. While Jak is imprisoned, he undergoes experiments with Dark Eco; when exposed to Dark Eco, he turns into a mindless beast.

Two years after his capture, Daxter breaks him out of prison, and together, they join an underground rebel movement that seeks to place the rightful ruler, a boy only referred to as the Kid, on the throne. While serving this Underground, Jak finds Keira and Samos, as well as a younger Samos. He also learns that Praxis has been working with the Metal Heads to maintain the throne. What surprises him the most is that Haven City is actually his home village 200 years in the future.

Partway through the game, Praxis obtains the Precursor Stone, an artifact of immense power. Praxis intends to crack the stone while it is inside the Metal Head nest, not knowing that destroying the Precursor Stone will set off a chain reaction that will destroy the planet. The Baron leaves the destruction of the stone to Krew, the mob boss of Haven City. Jak finds Krew and destroys the 'Splitter' Bomb he is building to crack the stone; Krew is killed in the resulting explosion.

After Krew's death, Metal Heads invade the city. Jak finds Praxis on the outskirts of the city, confronting Kor, a member of the Underground who had been guarding the Kid. Kor is then revealed to be the leader of the Metal Heads. He fires his energy breath at Praxis and flies off. Before he dies, Praxis shows Jak another Splitter bomb, this one containing the Precursor Stone. Daxter rummages through the bomb and deactivates it, and Jak takes the stone.

As the Krimson Guard and the Underground fight the Metal Heads in the city, Jak travels to the Metal Head nest to confront Kor. There, he finds that Kor has the Kid and a Precursor Ring like the one that brought Jak and his friends to Haven City. Kor informs Jak that the Kid is in actuality, a young Jak. Jak had been sent into the past to learn the skills necessary to defeat Kor. The young Jak, because he is innocent and untouched by Dark Eco, is able to release the Precursor entity trapped in the stone.

During the battle with Kor, Kor is decapitated by the Precursor Ring, which damages it. Before it breaks up, young Jak releases the Precursor entity, which enters the Ring. Samos and Keira arrive and send young Jak and young Samos back in time through the Ring, leaving Jak, Daxter, Samos and Keira to live out their lives in Haven City. Daxter takes over Krew's bar, and renames it the "Naughty Ottsel."

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

PLOT

After living in Liberty City for five years, Carl "CJ" Johnson returns to Los Santos in 1992 for his mother's funeral. Upon returning, his cab is pulled over by police officers Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski, who had several run-ins with Carl before he left. The officers put Carl in the squad car, frame him for a fellow officer's murder, and drop him off in a rival gang's area of town. Once Carl rides a bike back to his house, he finds his family and friends in disarray.

Carl's brother, Sean "Sweet" Johnson accuses him of their brother Brian's—and their mother's—deaths and berates him for abandoning the gang, the Grove Street Families. In an effort to win back his brother's favor, Carl then does jobs for Sweet, and fellow gang members Ryder, Big Smoke, and OG Loc. He also becomes protective of his sister Kendl after Sweet discovers that she is dating a member of another gang.

Thanks largely to Carl, the Grove Street Families return to prominence, and Sweet forgives him. While Sweet is preparing for a gang war against their rivals, the Ballas, CJ gets a call from Cesar, Kendl's boyfriend. The man shows him the Green Sabre being escorted by Big Smoke, Ryder and Tenpenny. This proves the three were involved in CJ's mother's death and that Sweet's plan is doomed. Carl tries to warn Sweet but can't reach him by phone; in desperation, he tries to rescue him. He withstands the Ballas long enough for SWAT and C.R.A.S.H. to arrive on the scene. Sweet is arrested and Tenpenny takes Carl away with him to 'the middle of nowhere' - a small village, Angel Pine, isolated between Los Santos and San Fierro. Meanwhile, aided by Ryder and Big Smoke, the Ballas take over Los Santos, flooding it with "yay," a form of crack cocaine.

Carl, realizing Tenpenny is his only hope of staying out of jail or getting Sweet released, continues to run the crooked cop's errands, and begins killing or discrediting people involved in building a criminal case against Tenpenny. During this time, Tenpenny introduces CJ to an old hippie named The Truth, and CJ helps the hippie with his marijuana farm. Meanwhile, Cesar gets CJ involved in a street-racing club run by the blind Chinese Triad leader and businessman Wu Zi Mu (who is referred to as Woozie). Eventually Carl wins the deed to a San Fierro garage, which he and his friends operate while they wait for an opportunity to return to Los Santos.

In San Fierro, Carl infiltrates the Loco Syndicate, who are supplying the Ballas with their drugs, doing jobs with the main members: **** the head of the gang, T-Bone, the gang's muscle, and shady government agent Mike Toreno, the gang's administrator. Eventually Carl kills them all, along with Ryder. Carl also does jobs for Woozie helping out his Triad in getting rid of a problematic Vietnamese gang, the Da Nang Boys.

It is then revealed that Toreno is, in fact, still alive and an agent for an unnamed branch of the U.S. Government. Carl becomes immersed in the affairs of Toreno, who survived his encounter with CJ, and implies that he will release Sweet if Carl helps him with his covert operations. After training to become a pilot, CJ then carries out operations for Toreno. Later, Carl is invited by Woozie to become a partner in the Triad's casino in Las Venturas, where they are facing harassment from the Mafia-run Caligula's Palace casino. Eventually, Carl gets a chance to scope out Caligula's Casino after The Truth asks him to save Kent Paul and Maccer, whom The Truth lost during a trip into the desert. Kent Paul introduces Carl to the Manager of the Casino—an ex-lawyer Ken Rosenberg, a former drug addict who has fallen in a depression because of the Mafia feud. He claims that if one family destroys the other, that family will surely kill him. Carl helps him by rescuing Johnny Sindacco from the hands of the Forellis. However, during Carl's and Ken's visit to the Sindaccos, they erase the whole family because Johnny recognises Carl and suffers a fatal heart attack. Ken later phones CJ to tell him that Leones have moved into the casino. Carl does jobs for Salvatore Leone, the Mafia don, to gain his trust whilst planning a heist on Caligula's with Woozie. During this time, Carl outlives his usefulness to Tenpenny, who tries, and fails, to have him killed. Eventually, Carl and the Triads successfully rob Caligula's.

Toreno makes good on his earlier promise to release Sweet, but much to Carl's surprise, his brother wants no part of Carl's new life**** Sweet insists on returning to Grove Street and working to re-establish the Families rather than rest on the laurels of Carl's success. Tenpenny goes to trial for several felonies, but the charges are dropped for lack of evidence, as - thanks to Carl - all the prosecution's witnesses are either missing or dead. Tenpenny's release sends anger and shock throughout Los Santos. The citizens of Los Santos launch a citywide riot, similar to the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. Fueled by Sweet's resolve to topple Big Smoke, who has become the city's biggest drug kingpin, Carl reacquires lost gang territory and hunts down the traitors responsible for pushing drugs that destroyed the Families. He assassinates Big Smoke in a shootout, escapes from the burning crack palace and pursues Tenpenny, who has fled with Smoke's drug fortune.

Sweet and Carl chase Tenpenny through the streets of Los Santos until Tenpenny loses control of his firetruck and drives it off a bridge with Tenpenny mortally injured. Carl is about to shoot him, but Sweet stops him, as it would look less suspicious if Tenpenny simply died from his injuries. Tenpenny then dies, and the Johnson family are reunited. As his friends and allies celebrate their success, Carl turns to leave. When asked where he's going, he replies, "Fittin' to hit the block, see what's happening."

Red Dead Redemption

PLOT

In the year 1911, John Marston, a retired outlaw formerly of a gang led by Dutch van der Linde, is taken away from his wife Abigail and his son Jack by government agents. The agents tell Marston that his family will be safely returned to him if he hunts down the remaining lead members of his former gang. Left with no choice, Marston travels to the territory of New Austin to capture or kill one of his old friends, Bill Williamson, who now runs his own gang of bandits out of Fort Mercer. Marston confronts Williamson at the fort, only to be shot and left for dead outside the fort. A rancher, Bonnie MacFarlane, finds him wounded, and brings him to a doctor to be treated.

After recovering from his wounds several days later, Marston begins repaying the MacFarlanes for their help. At the same time, he recruits help for a plan to attack Fort Mercer. Along with U.S Marshal Leigh Johnson of Armadillo, con man Nigel West Dickens, grave robber Seth Briars and drunken arms dealer Irish, Marston uses a Trojan Horse strategy to breach the fort and massacre Williamson's gang, only to find that Williamson had already fled to Mexico to seek help from Javier Escuella, another member of Marston's old gang. Irish agrees to take Marston into Mexico over the river border.

In Mexico, Marston is forced to work with Mexican Army Colonel Agustin Allende and Captain Vincente de Santa, as well as the revolutionaries in the area led by Abraham Reyes. Allende promises to deliver Escuella and Williamson to Marston, but soon betrays and has de Santa attempt to execute Marston for working with the revolutionaries and killing Allende's men with elder gunslinger and childhood inspiration Landon Ricketts. After escaping execution, Marston sides with the rebels who help kill de Santa and successfully get Marston to Escuella. Following Escuella's capture or death, Marston joins Reyes and his men for an assault on Allende's villa, not only culminating in the deaths of Allende and Williamson, but also Marston's rebel friend Luisa as well when she attempts to save Reyes. Reyes takes control of the surrounding Mexican counties, and vows to march onto the capitol with his rebel army. Marston, meanwhile, returns to the city of Blackwater to meet with his government contact, Edgar Ross.

Much to his dismay, Ross will not let Marston return to his family until Dutch van der Linde, who has emerged from hiding, has been killed. While Dutch and his men wage war on the United States Army in the area, Marston has several run-ins with Dutch who manages to elude capture each time. Marston eventually joins Ross and a group of U.S. soldiers in an assault on Dutch's hideout. Marston follows the outlaws to their base, and confronts Dutch on a cliff. Dutch ultimately chooses to commit suicide, leaping off a cliff to his death. Before jumping, however, Dutch warns Marston that the government will always find another "monster" to justify their pay.

Marston is released from his deal with the government, and returns to his family at his ranch. After some time spent getting the farm up and running again, Marston is forced to repel the army when Ross betrays him, leading a surprise attack on the property and killing Marston's friend, Uncle. Marston manages to get Abigail and Jack out safely but is shot dead by soldiers after sacrificing himself to allow his family a life of normalcy. Jack and Abigail then return to the ranch, finding John dead and the soldiers gone.

The game then jumps to 1914, after the death of Abigail, an older Jack stands at his parents' graves before tracking a retired Edgar Ross. After receiving a tip from a government agent in Blackwater, Jack ultimately discovers Ross hunting on a riverbed in Mexico. The two decide to have a lethal duel to settle matters once and for all with Jack killing Ross. After defeating Ross, Jack receives the latest edition of the newspaper, detailing the outcomes of some of the individuals that aided his father three years ago. Irish accidentally shot himself dead in the town of Thieves' Landing, Marshal Leigh Johnson retires from service vowing never to return to Armadillo, Landon Ricketts dies of old age, Seth became wealthy after finally finding the treasure he sought, and Abraham Reyes was considered a "tyrant" after overthrowing the Mexican government and becoming president.

OVERVIEW

The single player is possibly one of the best things to come out of Rockstar Games in a long time, but the multiplayer is lacking and requires alot of fan-boyness to get into. Connection issues make Multiplayer not worth playing but the single player is great all by its self. Also the promise of new packs and the upcoming Undead Nightmare Pack that features Zombies looks very promising
