It looks like the series jumped the shark on this one.

@Sefrix I agree with your comment wholeheartedly, and I think we live in a golden age of gaming in terms of diversity and creativity-- you just have to know where to look for it.

@highlanderjimd Spoon-fed QTE games have their place and can be fun. It's simply the overabundance that's gamers hate. The reason those games exist is because we were blown away by them in the first place. If every game were as challenging as Super Meat Boy and Dark Souls, we'd get sick of that too. What you really want is greater variety and creativity, especially among triple a titles.

@krbrown10 Bioshock was made by Irrational, published by 2K. Bioware was in no way related.

@Granpire I think he used MW2 to communicate that even in the most commercially successful titles, meaning can be found. It may be 99% shooting, and only 1% meaning, but it's a start.

@DARKKNIGHTPRABZ It will likely be a direct followup to Arkham city, but not a full-on sequel. The best comparison I can make is Bioshock 2, which filled in the void between Bioshock and Bioshock: Infinite. Not really a full-on sequel, more like a lengthy expansion.

@olegavi323 @edjos "real hardcore gamer" is an ultra-subjective term that doesn't mean anything these days. I'd rather trust the person who spends every waking hour playing, talking, and writing about games.

because half of the game isn't a cutscene or quicktime event.
