@Setho10 I'd want to see a business plan before I invest money ... some people don't care. The US, for the most part, gives people the information they need to make good decisions. People still have the right to throw their money away through ignorance or stupidity though.

LOL ...

Kickstarter can be used for good. I donated money through it to Denver Film Institute for new projectors.

Every time I see game developers asking for money and people give them money with no guarantees of success, I just laugh though. At best, you're gambling on terrible odds, At worst, you're just being scammed.

I loved those games as much as anyone. However, as Nintendo has proven, retreading the same franchises get old.

I loved Halo. I still remember epic battles on Hang 'Em High, but the 5th installment next year doesn't get me very excited. It could be a series of books that drag on too long, a band that doesn't change their style ...

New is harder, but long franchises are boring. Seen one AC, seen them all. Are there places to bring back old characters? Sure. Many times, it's better to let people remember the good 'olé days, not bring them back.

Exposure's not the problem. It's the summer blockbuster marketing that tries to cover up bad games or the 5th iteration of a game that hasn't changed that much. Annual releases like Madden, CoD and AC is the problem.

This the same problem with movies, music and books too. It'It's stating the obvious within an industry that has become main stream and faves the same challenges that every other entertainment Industry has dealt with for far longer.

Is the gold price for the games or the online MP capabilities. I'm confused what the value proposition is here?

Game sites make a big deal out of the free games. Congratulations on helping Sony and MS shift the conversation away from ... maybe the consoles are charging too much for basic online services.

Can I get a discounted price on PS+ or Live! if all I want is to play multiplayer games?

Too often, the game sites look at games and the industry through a broken lense. It's not just the content that matters, but the value of the content i.e. the content's value to the consumer (what's being offered) based on the price the price that the content is being offered at.

In this case, the bundling of a lot of content that I don't really want in order to get just one piece of functionality for the bundled price is a rip off.

@AggrandizedUser The issue isn't if the next generation machines are ready or not.

It's that the current gen is tired and looks old. Yearly releases of AC, BF and CoD aren't very interesting. In the near term, they're great revenue streams. In the long term, they became shadows of the original game like Madden did.

Watch Dogs did look like something new. Titan Fall looks like a progression of the genre. I haven't bought a new game for my 360 in two years. This generation has gotten stale and that's the problem.

This is the trend, but there are a lot of variables to get there. Could they even sell a cloud service into some of the larger international markets?

@Renunciation @FlyingAce1016 Still have little pity for Schil. Love him for the championships, but he's an arrogant bastard that bit off more than he could chew, screwed a lot of people and is now rightly feeling the pain too.
