I just picked up Tony Hawk Underground and Sonic Mega Collection last night. Yay!
I played THUG just a little bit last night and it was pretty cool. The only crappy thing is that my copy of THUG didn't come with an instruction manual. So I have to scour the net for one cuz I have to find out how to pull of a friggen "flamingo."
I'm way excited about SMC though, especially if I can get my hands on a Hori controller. Oh man. Old school to the MAX! I really wish I hadn't sold my Genny back in the day. If only I would have realized then how much I would have missed it today. *sniffle*
Actually, I wish I would have kept all my systems, the NES, the Genny, the Playstation, the GB Color. *tear*
At least I'm wiser now. I will definitely not be giving up my Cube to any greedy resellers. Never! *hugs her Cube*

First look at Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
by f4t4lfury on Comments
Wow! This game is so beautiful. ^_^ I just started it about a half hour ago. Currently, I'm battling the first boss, Marlboro. Heh. I've died twice, but in a couple more tries I'll beat it. I just gotta get the hang of the combat system.
I'm really bummed you have to have the GBA for certain parts of this game. Not just the multiplayer mode, but also for the mini games. *snarl*
Anyways...back to the game.

Turtles revisited
by f4t4lfury on Comments
I've been playing Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles. God knows why. The game is so easy, but that in itself makes me want to beat it. After all, how can you say a game is easy if you haven't beaten it, right?
Well, aside from the ease factor, TMNT has one of the best storylines I've ever seen. There are cut scenes after each level and it really develops the plot. I really like that part of the game. Not to mention the soundtrack, which literally and figuratively rocks my socks.
I also like the two play tag team feature. It's really easy for me to start a one player game and then when my girlfriend gets home she can jump right in and play with me. It's like the old Street Fighter 2 days on the SNES. Oh, nostalgia.
Well, only two more stages and I'm done with this beast. I might go through and beat it as each turtle just to unlock everything, but...we'll see. I picked up a strategy guide for Crystal Chronicles last night so that game is beckoning me. Plus, my gf picked up Leisure Suit Larry for the PC. Heehee.

Games v. computer upgrades
by f4t4lfury on Comments
I have a dilemma.
Should I buy some new games and peripherals for my GameCube or should I buy some memory for my computer? Decisions! I really need new memory. I'm only running 256mb right now and it sucks. I spend a lot of time on my computer, mostly for fun but also for work--writing freelance stories--and also for school.
But...I also really like my GameCube.
Oh dammit all, I should buy the memory. Why do I always have to do the responsible thing? Bah!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle soup
by f4t4lfury on Comments
So Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sucks! Gah. So horrible. I'll probably beat it in like 2 hours if I can manage to play that long. My thumb gets tired of hitting the attack button all the time. Way too many enemies and they are all stupid AI. They don't pose any challenge other than their hit meter is longer than yours. Well, $20 down the drain. Impulse buys are always hit or miss I guess. Maybe GameStop will give me like 5 bucks for it or something.
I can't believe their releasing a sequel. I won't even go near it.

If you win, I hate you

I played Mario Golf a bit more finally. Man, it's awesome. I really love the game play. It's very simple, but very effective. The courses are very creative; one course is played in the treetops. All the characters have unique personalities. The various play modes give the game a lot of replay value.
Oh! But the best thing about the whole game is that you can taunt your opponents! The title of this entry is actually a quote from Wario. :P
On a side note, I'm still stuck on those damn beetles in MP.

Battling beetles in the Chozo Ruins
by f4t4lfury on Comments
I hate these damn beetles! I've been trying to get the morph ball power up for about 30 minutes. I can't get past these stinking beetles. I don't know what my problem is. I think my fingers just get tired. For intense sight-locked shooting like this, I'm not a big fan of the Cube's controller design. It's just a little too big.
This battle frustrates me because I'm not even that far into the game and I'm already having trouble and secondly, they're f***ing beetles!
*snarl*
On a lighter note...
I played Mario Golf today for the first time. Good times. I really like all the playing features Nintendo included, like impact zone and impact timing. The lie factor is pretty cool too. Yay for game depth! I played it with my girlfriend and we just played a regular 18 hole course scoring match. I can't wait to get into the other play modes with four players though. Eeeee!
Back to...what was I doing? Oh, studying. Right. Studying.

Metroid Prime
by f4t4lfury on Comments
I borrowed Metroid Prime from one of my friends and I'm totally in love with it. The music is awesome. The playing is intense. I can't wait to play MP2 and I'm not even through with Prime yet. As a matter of fact, I only just started to explore the Chozo Ruins.
My only complaint is that the lighting is too dark sometimes, which makes it hard to figure out where you're going or which way you're supposed to go. I wish there was a two-player element too it, but I'm not sure how you would pull that off. Maybe just have a few mini-games like Capture the Flag or something. Aside from that, no gripes here.
I went a little game crazy this weekend and bought NFL Street, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and a Wave Bird controller. Totally in love with the Wave Bird. Now I can actually sit on the couch and play instead of the floor, since the cables were too short to reach. I think I'm going to pick up another one the next chance I get so my girlfriend and I can both sit on the couch and play.
I haven't played FFCC at all yet. I've been too busy with MP and NFL Street. I need to pick up a strategy guide for it first anyway. NFL Street rocks. I can't believe I actually like a football. But it's true. It's so much fun. I really suck at it, but I'm getting better, so hopefully I'll be able to unlock some of the stadiums soon.
Okay, back to Samus! 8)
