Playstation 2

I bought a broken PS2 off of eBay for $46. The seller said it had a "Disc Read Error" problem. I took it apart to see if I could fix it myself (adjusting the gear and all) but I couldn't, so I called Sony and shipped it to them. Free repair. Sweet! I'm so excited.

Shipping it to Sony was only $12, so I just got a PS2 for 58 bucks! Ha! Can't beat that. :)

A conquest!

I just beat Wario Land II. Woo! It was pretty easy, but I'll still celebrate. I'll probably go through later and unlock a few levels that I missed the first time around. But for now, it's back to Pokemon Yellow!

Metroid Prime: Back at it

I got the morph ball! Yes! Finally! I got the morph ball! This whole time I missed the freakin energy tank behind the war wasp hive (right after you get the missle launcher). Jebus Cripes. All the time I've been trying to figure out why I could get past the friggin beetles. Of course it would be something so simple.

System collection

I've managed to get closer to completing my video game collection. Thank god for (and curse you!) eBay! I recently bought a PS2, Dreamcast and a PS1.

I now have:
Sega Genesis 2 - console deck only :(
Super Nintendo + games
Sega Saturn + games
Nintendo 64 + games
Playstation - console and controller only
GameBoy Color + games
Sega Dreamcast
GameCube + games
Playstation 2 - broken (but fixable!)

Now I just need to aquire:
Nintendo
Neo Geo Pocket
Xbox
GameBoy Advance

*sigh* I was so close, but then my girlfriend yelled at me when all these packages were coming in for me. Heh. Probably a good thing though because I was out of money before I got the PS2, PS1 and Dreamcast. I tried explaning to her tonight what my fascination was with older gaming systems but she just didn't get it. :(

I guess it's just a gamer thing.

I-Ninja

I-Ninja is a sweet little title. The dialogue is really funny and the story line is okay. Basically what you would expect from an action game; collect these things, destroy these minions, defeat the boss, repeat. Still, it's quite a bit of fun because you can run along walls, grind and do combo attacks.

I passed the first three stages, got my yellow belt and defeated the mini-boss. Now I'm onto the second level. Too bad I have to go to work. :( This is the type of game that I would stay up all day and night finishing. :)

Nintendo DS? Blah

I finally encountered someone that had a Nintendo DS that I could play around with for awhile. I spent some time playing Super Mario 64 DS and messing around with the other features of the DS. And you know what? I don't like it. It's so awkward to handle. The map on the second screen is handy, but it's not that essential.

I'm probably in my own boat on this one, but that's just what I think about it.

Alone for the holidays

My girlfriend left at 8:00 this morning to drive home to her parents' house for Christmas. :( I'm so lonely. I didn't even want to play any video games today. That has been a point of major controversy as of late. Me playing too much video games and not spending enough time with her. Weird how that works out, isn't it?

I'm leaving tomorrow to drive home to my mom's. I don't really want to go home for Christmas. In all honesty, I'd rather stay here and be alone than go home and feel lonely because no one is there that I really care to be around. I'm only staying for two days, so hopefully I can get through it okay.

I'm thinking about taking the Cube home with me to relieve boredom, but then I suppose my mom would complain that I don't spend any time with her when I'm home! It's just losing all the way around it seems.

Well, my brother-in-law has a PS2, so maybe I can hang out with him and play. I don't know what new games he's gotten since last Christmas. I had quite a bit of fun playing Driver last year, so maybe I'll bust that out again.

Well, Happy Holidays everyone. Hope it's going to be better than mine!

Reviews posted

I've reviewed about five games on GS. Three of them can't be accessed from the Gamespace pages because there weren't any other reviews for them. Anyways, if you have some time, I'd appreciate it a lot if you'd surf over to my profile: http://www.gamespot.com/user/profile.html?user=f4t4lfury and rate the reviews I've written.

Many thanks!

What $4.99 clearance?

I was so excited when I read about Best Buy's $4.99 video game clearance sale on GS. But when I went to Best Buy, the only GameCube game that was $4.99 was Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, which I already have. Some of the games on GS's list weren't even on sale at all. They were $20, $30, $40. I was very disappointed.

I did pick up Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly for $14.99 and Metal Arms for $9.99. I thought Metal Arms looked like a good multiplayer game. Spyro, I figured would rock because when the series was on the PS1 it was fantastic. I get back home and read the reviews on GS and they all give the game a horrible score--nothing higher than a 4.0. Eeep! Now, I'm unsure as to whether I want to break this game out and play it or leave it shrinkwrapped and return it for cash.

I'm happy that Metal Arms has an 8.0+ score. I'm looking forward to digging into this game. I think it will great to work on while I'm waiting for my girlfriend to come back from the holidays at her parents'. :)

Has anyone played this Spyro title? Is it any fun at all?
