all in all the game is pretty underwhelming. i bought this game out of desperation because every second release this generation seems to be an mmo. i don't do mmo's. in fact i stay away from online portions in every game. so i was happy to get a solo shooter for a change. but soon i found out that this reboot is a dull one. if their aim was creating the quickest shooter around i think they succeeded. it feels like dead space on crack in terms of movement. in my opinion they tried way too hard to deliver the multiplayer experience with a solo campaign. enemies are spawning aimlessly around. everything is designed for quick shootouts. at the same time the doom franchise failed to be a modern shooter. quickness and velocity is not everything. the game lacks alot and is only repeating the formula. although i thought doom3 was a bit meh it was still better than this one in terms of atmosphere and fun. i would give this reboot a 6.5 maybe 7 on a good day.
@cassar31: why are some gamer's brains unable to adapt? we are not ants, we are semantically thinking creatures. but some prefer to stay ants. just one task. that's enough.
never had to ignore as many games as this gen. every felt second game needs to be online pvp or similar funkilling elements. onlinegaming is just no fun.
This is a very disappointing trophy list. I know i will have no interest in getting the platinum with freaking collectibles or online portions. Oh well. I think i'll refrain from buying this game. Maybe some day on a heavy discount. But in the meantime i hope my not-buying will send a sign.
i will end up buying playstation vr and one of the pc solutions. the reason is simple: i'm stoked to get my hands on it. it's the next big thing and if it turns out to be an epic fail - so what? if i couldn't afford either of the new vr gadgets i would cite "mmweeeh i'll wait a couple years because i'm not dumb enough". yeah. semantic beings and their need to tell stories to the world and themselves to feel better about them.
@AndreasRufus: so you're upset, that their monetizing model will be a massive intaker of money? i bet you are one of these who want everything for free, stay the same forever (so you don't have to adapt to anything else) and maybe even get some money from THEM for being so generous to play one of their products? humans.. never cease to amuse me.
so funny how the majority of users are always putting it like they are so cool-minded and all while in reality they just can't afford it. if they would be true to themselves and the rest of the world their posts would sound quite different. but humans being brought up by nature to fake their way through existence i guess there is just nothing one can do about it but be sarcastic about it. it's not just like that with VR it's basically like that with every new piece of hardware that gets released. everybody is stoked about vr or about the new hardware and everybody would get one if they could afford it. but instead we got arguments and discussions and everybody is trying to convince the others that everybody should better also not be able to buy it. herd-thinking. oh, well. pathetic. i am not talking about you users, i am talking about nature itself. which is a pretty questionable concept to begin with.
