Platinum Contempt (Sonic Sega Genesis)

I'm not a big fan of the broken system Sony has kept for the PS4 in 'rewarding' players with trophies.

Perhaps this goes in Sony's favour in any potential XB-ONE/PS4 console I might get in the future.

After reaching Lvl 12 and 0%, we are still stuck with getting 8000 points in trophy to gain a level - 80 points = 1%. A rare gold trophy =1%. Six (absolutely meaningless and useless) Bronze trophies will get you that 1% too. Lvl 11 progression was 2000 points to get to Lvl 12. From then on, it is grindingly redundant, because the same progression that would have got your level to 16 only gets you to 13.

So, I have absolute contempt for Levelling Up. It recently took me 20 months to even bother to get the last couple of trophies required to platinum another title. (Yes, I finally did it, but in spite of this, not because of it)

I still have to simply upload a tailor-made costume to Platinum Saints Row 3. The obstacle - a large download update so it can go 'online'. - I'm not gonna do it, even for a platinum.

Also, Damned if I'm going to wipe a nappy perfectly in Heavy Rain. It's just not gonna happen!

Sony are idiots, for keeping a broken progression system. Regardless of my contempt, I might just be a bit grateful.

A bit after the new year...

LBP Karting.

So, I have actually played a game through to it's conclusion.

Apart from getting 100% of the items... so I can Build some crazy level of my own without an inhibit, IDK what I think about this game/builder.

Now all I have is 2 hours of tutorials, spoken by Stephen Fry, to grab a Bronze trophy to complete the offline trophy collection.

Thank goodness I am Lvl 12 of PSN, so trophies (other than the odd platinum) and game score levels are completely meaningless, thanks to the idiotic progression slowdown, that kicks in at 12.

Why didn't they abolish trophies with the PS4, and work on a gamescore? Cos SONY are idiots.

What a broken system. Hopefully it doesn't take 5 minutes of poor connection to get a trophy list with the PS4, like it does on the PS3.

things to do in the new year:

Little Big Planet Karting.

-this lil rascal of a sackboy game has been sitting around unused since I got it new for the special moving 'hologram' box cover.

I did take the thing out for a small spin, and yeah, sure, the editor looks a lot like the Mod Racer game, but the levels themselves are a lot more like an old PSone game that I can barely remember the name of, but had played, and the psychadelic levels, planned out jumps and general construction make me think back to 1997. (for design - the game is not a 15 yr old game)

Raider Reboot

It seems 'reboot' is the catchprase of the minute. Things are no longer 'reimagined' or 'made current' or 'redeveloped' or 'made contemporary'. Things just get rebooted, like a switch comes on, and there you are, a clean load, and all the baggage called a history is wiped away. So, I'm starting TOMB RAIDER, or purhaps I should be even more current and refer to it as TOMB RAIDER ONE. Does the reboot fit the shoes of its predecessors? Coming Soon!
