I think it is much more popular thanks to the internet. It might discourage some gamers due to the amount of effort and thought needed to be really good. I know for certain I will never be good at the genre due to me not willing to put in practice and study mechanics. I admire those who do but I'll continue to watch the pros play and mash with my friends.

The World Ends With You. At the time I felt there was too much being thrown at me in the beginning involving game mechanics. Tried 3 playthroughs but I just can't get past a certain point early in the game due to just not caring and I tire of this lone wolf woe is me main character.

Kingdome Hearts Birth By Sleep. Mostly to it being on a handheld. By the time I got it I no longer cared about the series due to the direction Sqaure is taking with it.

3D Dot Heroes. Mostly out of rage caused by sucking at it. Got to a fire temple but ran out of potion a few rooms away from the boss, thus I get no teleport, with magical enemies and some type of golem enemies that sap a good chunk of life. The thought of having to climb down the mountain to heal and climb back up to my current location made me too angry to continue.

Xenogears. Felt too slow paced to me with needless talking. I admit I spoiled myself on the story before I played it and expected it to unfold in a timely manner. I may be wrong but I read that most of the first disc was recruiting party members. I just stopped playing after reading that and consulting a friend who was further into the game about it. I rather youtube it.

But why does it matter what he thinks? Especially if it is based on ignorance. People will hate on things for dumb reasons but that shouldn't affect another's enjoyment of the game.

Seems to me that you are just upset that he doesn't share your opinion. Amazes me how so many fans of different games get butthurt over a reviewer's score. Not everyone will like your game, get over it. If you enjoy the game why does it matter what others think?

I played on the hardest setting as my one and only playthrough. Besides holding square to hit the enemy into the air I mashed square the majority of the time and did fine.

I will leave a FPS match if there are teamkillers, otherwise I don't quit. Annoys me to see players quit in fighters just because they will lose. I take my defeat and try to do better next time.

I remember a guy arguing with a professor years ago about Obama. The student was cuban and had a paranoid belief that Obama would be like Castro and take over the US.
