Don't take it literally. If you do it turns out to be a bunch of lies.clembo1990Agreeable...although I'm pretty dang Christian...I do think a lot of the things in the bible, because of hundreds of years of translations and such, are skewed and exaggerated. Some things may just be put in there for symbolism.
[QUOTE="fatjack04"]
Note that you also said to ban it in clubs and bars, not just restaurants.
[QUOTE="fatjack04"]I said nothing about "everyone's air". I'm talking about mine.matthayter700
How shamelessly and unapologetically selfish of you, given that others have to breathe some of the same air you breathe.
I don't want to smell pot or tobacco...yet I put up with car pollution because I need transportation.fatjack04
:roll:
Transportation =/= automobile transportation
Why couldn't you take public transit, or walk, or ride bicycle to get where you need to go?
I'd rather not have to be made uncomfortable anywhere (bar, club, restaurant, anywhere)...hence why I don't want pot to be legal and if it is, it shouldn't be allowed anywhere but private home property ONLY. I don't want to smell it...hence why I don't want pot to be legal. A lot of other people don't want to smell it either, if you want me to concern "everyone's air". I want my own transportation, and so do billions of other people...hence why nothing drastic is being done to rid of automobile transportation to improve the air quality.HAH. If only.if you go to college=$100,000 to $500,000 a year after college

IF IF IF IF it were legalized, which I don't want, I agree with your restrictions except for 3) You can use it in a public place. I never want to be around it, and I know there's probably millions of other people that don't. So, to keep the majority happy, I'd restrict it to home use only. I would definitely never let it be used in restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. Enclosed spaces with THAT smell? Yucky.[QUOTE="fatjack04"][QUOTE="FragStains"]As long as we are operating in the world of fantasy, I would be happy to allow marijuana to be legalized with the following restrictions: 1) You can't buy it until age 21. 2) It is taxed heavily. 3) You can use it in a public place. 4) You must take a psychological test, and have 5 references that can verify your character. 5) You must have a job, or have been employed for at least 3 years. 6) Once you get your laminated marijuana license, you can only obtain small amounts for the first year on a probationary period. If you break any of the laws governing it legal usage (such as giving it to those not licensed) results in loss of marijuana usage privilege for 1 year. 7) Seriously.matthayter700
Then avoid it. o.o
You say you wouln't even let it be used in clubs and bars? Where more harmful drugs, like alcohol, are used? If you go to those places, wouldn't that make you a hypocrite for complaining about the marijuana smell? I'd say take the same approach as to tobacco; ban its use in public service buildings, but allow some privately owned bars to allow smoking in them.
A there seems to be a bit of a double standard between drugs and pollution; people prohibit smoking because "it's everyone's air"; yet people are allowed to drive cars, which contributes to urban smog in big cities, poisoning "everyone's air"
I live in Minnesota, where smoking is banned in public places...and I like it. Avoid a public place? So I want to go to a restaurant and eat with my friends but people are lighting up doobies? No way. I said nothing about "everyone's air". I'm talking about mine. I don't want to smell pot or tobacco...yet I put up with car pollution because I need transportation. Screw everybody else. If there was a vote on making pot illegal or not, I'm voting based on what I prefer, not based on the majority.If I base myself off of your definitions...I minorly have committed Envy...in the past. Now, None. WOO!None of them really.
- Lust ~ Contrary to popular belief, this has to do more with deviant sexual behaviour and not normal sexual desire... like rape, incest, adultery, etc.
- Gluttony ~ "Eating to the point of waste." I don't waste food, I may be overweight but I eat as healthy as I can and never waste anything.
- Greed ~ Obsession with material wealth. Aside from developing a modest living, my thoughts on my material wealth are practically non-existent.
- Sloth ~ "Apathy or joylessness." I love my life and try my hardest to make those around me happy.
- Wrath ~ "Uncontrolled hate and anger." I am probably one of the least angry people in the world. Life is too short to sweat things.
- Envy ~ "Wanting what another has." I do want things that other people have but have patience and modesty when it comes to acquiring them.
- Pride ~ I am pretty much the opposite of prideful. Not only do I put others before myself, I tend to have problems with accepting the things about myself that actually are attractive and desirable.

Ironically enough, I am probably less of a "sinner" than some devout Christians and I'm an atheist.
