Yep PS5 next year indeed. Sony will let MS have their little release and holiday for this year. But, Sony will not sit idle and PS5 will be more powerful then Scorpio. Bank on it. The PS4 Pro was a stop gap for Scorpio. Console gaming becoming like PC with video card releases frequently. Get use to it since its finally here. :)
1. I have an Xbox Elite controller for my PC. So I use kb/mouse and controller when I feel lazy.
2. Numbers are low on PC period
3. Don't care. Will buy a 4k player if I want one down the line.
4. Console wins for ease of use. Its always going to work.
5. HDR is incredible console has the upper hand right now as it just works. No HDR monitors yet for PC coming soon though.
6. Don't care about that. I have gone all digital now. No worse then using Steam on consoles.
7. MS store is the plague. Just awful.
Scorpio still does not sway me though having the GTX 1080, PS4 Pro and Switch. Call it poor timing in my case I suppose. It just does not get my attention like others. Assuming MS does not mess it up like the Xbone. It could be a good console for folks that want it.
@cjlogix87: I have a GTX 1080 as well along with a PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. So the Scorpio is a complete pass for me. I will play Scorpio offerings on PC if MS continues to go that route.
$499 and it will bomb just like the Xbox One did at launch. Consumers like the $399 price points at the most for consoles. This has been proven time and time again. There is no market for a $499/$599 console accept for the niche hardcore that are loyal to the Xbox brand. PS3 bombed at $499/$599 during launch and so did Xbox One at $499 as I said. How quick Xbox fans for get that. Especially showing their displeasure for pricing during E3 with Xbox One reveal.
This will not change and will happen to Scorpio. Of course MS will spin it and say they are shocked with supply/demand. Again minimal quantities and hardcore Xbox fans buying it initially will cause that. It will not sustain even for the first year. Also the Xbox brand has been damaged as a whole. I and many others did not for get about the RROD debacle for the 360. They knowingly shipped and sold faulty consoles.
What also does not help was their horrible PR stunt with Xbox One and the "deal with it" attitude they had then. Now they are trying to catch up and kiss consumers arses again. Not working with me and I hope it continues with many others. I will never buy another MS game console again even if it was the best of the best. I will play their exclusive game offerings on PC instead as long as they continue to offer them.
Scorpio is going to be a tough sell and you need a whole hell of a lot convincing consumers. I wish MS the best with that. Even if this console falls very short as Xbox One did, MS will be perfectly fine and be back for another. They have the money to do this.
@imajinn: I love consoles to!!!! I have a PS4 Pro and Neon Switch as well. I was not really dumping on the Scorpio like you think. If you have a pretty good PC and MS keeps on bringing them to PC as well. Along with cross play. Scorpio is going to be a tough sell. And even more so at the $500-$700 range if the rumors are true. I personally think it will be $599.
Xbox One launched at $499. If MS does decide to go with $699 launch. Good luck with that one. It will bomb fast just like the One with price cuts shortly after.
