@Joeasdfghjkl @Max42 You have every right to own whatever you want and it doesn't make you crazy at all. I personally don't really have an issue with the NRA but I do have an issue with people pointing the finger at something to blame when the facts are that it comes down to each individual. For example you can own a gun and hunt but you know you're not going to go shooting people because you're in the right mind set. But someone else may not be and go shooting people. However it isn't the gun nor the games nor the movies, etc. It's the person's state of mind, upbringing, that sort of thing. So what I was saying (which I should of made clearer so I apologise for that) was pretty much what most of us are thinking; stop blaming what isn't at fault.
@Joeasdfghjkl @farstrung @Max42 My point isn't that the NRA or any administration is right or wrong which is I purposely didn't mention any of those. My point is that while the availability of weapons can be an issue, at the end of the day it is the individual(s) who are responsible for their own actions. Unfortunately then governments and high powered orginizations don't give a crap about us so it is down to us, the people, to accept responsibility and do the right thing and make the changes. Finger pointing only makes the obvious stand out.
@norman69 I know, right? When we had the massacre here in Australia down in Hobart, Tasmania, guess what game was blamed then; Doom. Apparently it makes for an awesome "shooting training" program. Despite the fact you can't look up and down but you know, who does that when shooting a gun anyway?
@pwnater777 I agree but sadly it isn't just Americans who seem fairly proud to show off their stupidity. I should know, I'm Australian and we only just accepted the R18+ classification (which may be officially used next year some time I might add) but you should of seen some of the reasons as to why some games were banned/edited here. I was dead set ashamed of being Australian.
@ivory_soul Man I wish more people were as smart as you. Seriously, very well put and that is exactly what I tell everyone. Every day someone gets stabbed. So...should we blame ninja games for the "violent influence"? It makes no sense.
@farstrung @Max42 I couldn't have said it better myself. People don't like to admit they have responsibilities and such and in turn lash out at where the fault isn't. I mean I can sure bet that Charles Manson has no interest in games at all. As one example.
@horizonwriter I agree with you. It seems to be a common habit amongst a lot of games and movies, etc, to recycle characters, especially favorites, to the point that even the fanboys start getting sick and tired of seeing them. Variety is what I like and it's something that helps make a game interesting. Every time I play Soul Calibur for example I feel like I "have played this before" and while they are great games they need more characters and not just a few extra ones here and there. So again I definitely agree with you. Plus if you're a fan of the comics or whatever you want to see as many characters as possible. There's a greatly rewarding feeling when you look at something in-game and say "Oh wow! They included that/him/her/it!" because you feel it's not just a money magnet. It's a game made with the fans in mind.
