In spite of how much I love and admire David Lynch, his interpretation of Dune was poor. I really really wish they give this absolutely fantastic and overwhelmingly complex series the film adaptation it well deserves.
@beowulf1211: wow why is it so difficult for some people on the internet to admit they misunderstood some statements and cope with the fact they are mistaken? (of course, saying they're sorry is out of the plane ). Is is so disgusting to change opinion? No, instead they ram into the factwall with their dicks until everyone just stops trying to make him come into senses and start making fun of him.
@beowulf1211: you're completely wrong with that analogy. The fact that Star-dew valley doesn't look crisp is no indicator that there is not a lot of work behind it or it being s simple "sketch of a game". Dunno if you know, but it was developed by a single person, which is an extremely admirable feat in terms of art, writing, coding, financing, composing, balancing etc. The "masterpiece painting" game that you describe corresponds to some game made by a million dollar company with hundreds of workers, who probably will use a of outer-source engine to make a big looking game aimed to a certain profitable market. The right analogy would be a can of pepsi getting less points than a home brewed pitcher of good quality beer. In that case it does make all the sense in the world doesn't it?
@beowulf1211: someone doesn't quite get things. This game looks simple but it is actually a lot of fun. Most AAA games these days are all about the publicity and hype, selling copies pre-ordered, filling pockets and abandoning them afterwards, because mostly they won't deliver half what they promised. Look at Destiny for example, a super costly game which was in development for years and was sold as a game that would break all barriers. It sold millions and ended up being a 2 hours of fun 30 hours of tedium kind of game.
