lol you copyed gamespys vista ready comp besides the ram, i guess its a ok start but dont get the dell moniter u can get a cheaper one off of newegg.comI'm going to give building my first PC a shot soon, and I think I've got the parts mostly picked out. I've got about $2000 to spend, and this should come pretty close (I do have a little 'wiggle room' if I need to). Is this rig a) going to run newer stuff (Obilvion, FEAR, etc) well, and b) not too complex for a first timer?
Here's the specs;
Case: Antech Performance One P180
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600
MoBo: Asus p5N32-sli
RAM: Kingston HyperX P2 6400 (2x1gb)
Video: Nvidia 8800 GTX
Sound: Creative X-Fi
DVD: Probably a Samsung Writemaster (for LightScribe, I think it's cool)
HDD: 2x250 gb in raid 0, not sure exactly which ones
PSU: Thermaltake 750W
Mouse: Razer Diamondback
Keyboard: Logitech g15
Monitor: Dell 22in HD widescreen (may add later, depends on total price beforehand)
Finally, is there a better site for parts than newegg? I can't find one. Thanks for any suggestions!

The 680i problems can be fixed with a BIOS update. Do that before you install your hard drives (or at least before you install your operating system), and you shouldn't run into any problems.RayvinAznok great thank you for reasuring me and i guess i will go with the E6600 from all of the opinions you gave me.... Btw i have a 8800gts the $500 one and i dont really know what beaverman means by high res will be bottlenecked by the gts....well thanks anyway

(look at the bottom of this page) normally this case is blue but i was going to do what gamespy did and replace the fans with quiter green fans. there are like 5 fans in the case so the temprature inside the case should stay pretty low prob around 32C at its highest
