because of 2 reasons that I can think of

1: no scientific evidence for a young earth, and lots of scientific evidence for an old earth

2: the people who believe it (myself might be included) believe it strictly on faith

Here's a decent site for some research. http://www.arn.org/

"Providing accessible information on science, technology, and society from an intelligent design perspective."

When you establish the bias before you establish the facts, no one trusts your factual accuracy.

Every scientist in the world starts with a bias guys. Its called a freaking theory or a supposition. Its how science works. You try to find evidence that supports your theory. And young earth theory hasn't been around for that long so your not going to find the layers of "evidence"the evolutionist claim they have. You will thoughfind things that make you go Hmmmm.

I think one of two things are responsible for such a belief, either the individual hasn't studied the subject, or has chosen to ignore the evidence.yoshi-lnex
In other words if one questions the scientific established dogma that has been created over the last 100+ years that person is ignorant or not gifted with the enlightenment that you are yoshi-inex.

See this is where I would post links and theories concerning on the concept of creationism. But form experience you and others like you won't read them or engage in a discussion on them.

Whois more dogmatic the evangelical christian or the science teacher. I say the science teacher.

Oh dear. be careful, this could get ugly. :D

If you're curious as to why many people are skeptical of this belief, you should probably reference this wikipedia article: Young Earth Creationism

To put it bluntly, a lot of people think it disagrees with our currently-held scientific knowledge. just my two cents, and I apologize in advance for offending you. :)

I bet you use wikipedia for as a research source for all your papers.

Heh, I save wiki for internet flamewars that won't ever be resolved - I usually track down the original source when it affects my GPA. :D

Okay, flame on then.

I think it's really funny how the only thing that separates jews and christians is the belief in jesus, and yet, the two groups are bitter enemies.

P.S-I didn't even watch the video yet. Might later tonight if i get too bored to do anything else.jeff16950_demon

What century are u in again? Bitter enemies?!! I think you could safelysay the Jewish people as a whole are weary of christians. I think most main stream christians understand the Judeo-christian dynamic.

[QUOTE="rimnet00"]I wonder how many people took this video seriously :|sSubZerOo

The video makes a pretty sound point.. Not that god exists or anything, just that the bible shouldn't be the ends all scripture to put your entire beliefs in with no other research.

I find it ironic that people don't realize if the originalbiblewas infact true or perfect it still has been translated and copied thousands of times by imperfect beings.. Thus making it imperfect this is assuming no one has rewritten with their odvious biases which I garentee that certainly affected the translation.

Do ya think the translators and copiers of thetextsweren't allbeing "supervised". So if there is a biased one way or the other it would be a single bias based on an institutional philosophy. Oh and what did the diciples get out of supposedly playgising (sp) the Hindu texts?

23 of the 27 NT books were written within 60 years of O A.D.

Here is a link to an apologetics page that my enlighten you to the errors that have crept in over the years:

[QUOTE="353535355353535"][QUOTE="SDog624"]o and whats up with scooter libby getting pardoned. what kind of BS is that?jekyll
well, he's rich, and the first amendment clearly states that rich people are exempt from jail time

He was never pardoned. He's still a convicted felon and still has to pay the $250,000 fine.

he will be pardoned eventually. when the grows some. I mean he half pardons him in effect.
