Hmm, I disagree. Look at bands like Opeth, Agalloch, Isis, Pelican and Tool (there are more, but that's all I can be bothered thinking of). They don't really fit into your categorization. I think most bands of most genres of music have the problem of being fairly same-y, but Metal doesn't really have that issue more than others.

I used to be, very frequently. I was the only 11 year old boy with shoulder length hair, hahaha. It became decreasingly frequent as I went through puberty, however, I recently had it once again when an old man walked into the male bathroom where I was washing my hands and asked "Is this the ladies toilets?" :P

I was raised in an environment where music would be played almost constantly, my father is a proffessional musician and I am a musician myself. An easy choice; music. That's not to say I don't like movies, and I watch them regularly, they just don't compare to music for me.

Thanking him here is a bit silly, I doubt he uses this site.
