Because what you said is the opposite of the facts. The PS3, which was competing against consoles which were already out, did not have a strong release, the first year was a slow build up.

The projected numbers for pre-orders of these new consoles are lower then any previous figure from past releases.

This co-called "next generation" is a joke and anything but, escpecially to anyone who will be playing these games on PC.

Consoles as we knew them are dead. It's one of the reasons I canceled mt PS4 pre-order about a month ago.
