Actually the native resolution of the Xbox 360 is 720p (1280 X 720). Any games being output at 1080p are done so using upscaling. The PS3 on the other hand has a native resolution of 1080p (1920 X1080). However it seems that rendering a game at that resolution is just too taxing for the hardware.

Oh and give up with this whole conspiracy theory BS as well. Gamespot isn't receiving any payola from MS. If you are going to make such inflammatory claims, then back them up with some hard evidence. Secondly, do you honestly think that devs are being purposefully lazy with regards to making games on the PS3? Does that make any sense at all? Have you plastered your house with aluminum foil to keep out evil transmissions from invading Scientologists, I mean aliens :P?

I am not sure why all the PS3 fanboys are getting their panties in a twist :P. After all isn't the article just saying that graphically the two machines are pretty much even? Perhaps you feel a bit cheated that the PS3, which according to Kutaragi has "supercomputer calculation capabilities", performs about as well as what he called the "Xbox 1.5". You do realize that all this loyalty towards a large multinational corporation is a waste of time (and this also applies to 360 fanboys). All they are interested in is making you buy their product. If you buy a console because of some notion of brand name loyalty you are an idiot :D. Get a console for its games, that's all that should matter to a gamer anyway.
