Buy an 8 series card, and then when the 9 series comes out, assuming it does, sell your 8 series card on ebay and then save up an extra 200 to buy a nice 9 series card. Problem solved. You could wait but you'd be missing out on 3-4 months of great games.SLI_Yoshi

but first let us know the rest of the system (no use buying a 8 serie if you won't be using it's potential because of a bottleneck )

and the rest of your system ??

cpu and ramm

if the rest of the parts are good enough I would think of a 8800gts and if it's in your budget a gtx

your card is 2 gen old you really will get a big performance boost (that is if the rest is up to date)

waiting for a 9 series can take long (no one knows a date)

DUDE!!!!!!!!

WAIT!!!!!!!!

FOR THE 11800gtx ultra........

(to put it simple you can always find an excuse to wait the next in line is always better........butt do you want to wait ?

if like said in above posts if you are happy enough with your current card then maybe wait.

If your current card sucks I would probably buy a new one now :D .

you don't know when or even if the 9800 will be released this year maybe they won't even call it a 9800 I think the name is to old-school ATI ;) )

only thing I can add is for now I am very happy with my 8800gtx I could recommend it :)

srry guys in some cases a dell can be cheaper then homebuilt....... you just have to be lucky with what they offer at the time.

I have had dells and my own built computers

(most of the dells are upgradable just watch out for what you buy. like in some cases you can't change the psu and most dell cases arent compatible with a other motherboard.)

and they tend to use a bit slower and cheaper ramm but you can change that when you order.

as for the reason that you can't overclock them "THAT IS UTTER **** yes you can't overclock them through a the bios but if you just use google you can find a handy programm named clockgen http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php with this you can overclock your cpu easy (did that on a few dells and works like a charm but be carefull and watch your temps)

a plus of making your own pc is you know what brand of parts you use you can choose what you need and better tune it on the use

but most dells are decent computers if you don't want to built yourself it is a good alternative and they have good deals

[QUOTE="monkeytoes61"]Let's compare WOW to Diablo 2. WOW is a way for people to lose their lives, start failing in school, lose sleep, get fat eating junkfood, get sick from energy drinks and lose money from paying just to play it. Diablo 2 is a way to have fun for a little bit, get outside to do stuff, save money for not having to pay, but still play online for free, and generally not lose your life. I would pick Runescape, a terrible game over WOW because I don't have to pay to play. I won't see one of my roomates for days. You know why? Because he was couped up in his room playing all the WOW he could before his subscription was up. Ok, my rant is over.Skullheart

Diablo 2 is the most overrated game, you mean. Lets face it...it has horrible graphics, horrible gameplay, and probably a horrible community. I'm sick of you trollers coming in here bashing **** because it's popular.

horrible graphics ? horrible gameplay ???????

it's a really old game the graphics where really good for that time and the gameplay doesn't differ much from wow :D just simple bashing bashing bashing bashing..........wheeeee I found a coloured item must be special :D

no serious diablo was really good for that time

arma was the first game in years I had to return to the shop for a refund.

the a.i. was stupid with people getting stuck and tanks driving against walls.

graphic errors on my system (a shame cause I have a 8800gtx)

I would better recommend the old operation flashpoint instead of arma.

a game so buged should never have launched. its like paying for an open beta.

but to get back on the question.

rainbow-six ravenshield is a great option or maybe a joint operations (not a great game but can be fun on the coop)
