I'm not so sure if the fact that it's getting easier and faster to produce game quickly is a good thing anymore... I for one, am not rich enough to afford 1 AC game per year while buying other interesting game. Sure if all I was playing was AC, I'd want that so I don't get bored but I got other games on my play list...
It's nice looking but since I have nothing to do with game production, it's not really aimed at me. I'd like to be good enough to make stuff like that though!
I can't help but think this is going to be some sort of ACIII meets Farcry 3 thing...Which, could go either way too lol. (Tho the AC assassin gameplay is unlikely to chance significantly) Also, I liked Ezio, he was a good protagonist if that claim of "this is Ezio mark II" would be a positive point if true.
I'd say me biggest beef with ACIII was that I like Haytham a lot more then Connor even tho he was the bad guy and the story was riddle with loop holes. I also had quite a few bugs. My biggest beef with Farcry 3 is how the story got incoherent near the end and how Vaas was so much more interesting then Hoyt as an antagonist. The experience was completely bug free in my case. IF they learn from their mistakes, this could be a great game.
And for those guys complaining about the fact that it's another AC game, I think Ubisoft is making a point of building a complete alternate universe, so get use to see more Ubisoft home bread games franchises set in it in the near future.
@Triton I'd say that from how they currently construct the game, it would be a use challenge: the difference on how people treated men and women would be huge compared to today and since they want to make the game "historically accurate", I'd say they prefer to set main character in stone in order to reduce the possibility of voice over options etc. I'm not saying it would be impossible, some companies pull it off all the time but it will surely affect gameplay. In most games, they recycle a lot and assume that men and women are treated equally to avoid this issue. However, I'm sure that if they really did set their mind to it, it would be possible.
I was bored and I reinstalled ME3 and tried this DLC over the weekend. Overall, I like the new abilities from the 2 new characters the combat and the environment, but those cinematic glitches are everywhere! This DLC does feel like it was rushed and could've been much more. Omega Looks and feels great but the bad cut-scenes and a strange lack or good conversation choices and rpg choices makes this DLC rather disappointing. The early parts of if looked promising tho...
Yeah well I'm a few of them and I know for a fact I'm part of the majority. Good to see more players since this game has come a long way since launch! But I agree it is not for everyone. There is no pretty, no cute and no pity in this game.
The naval battles were the most interesting part of ACIII and much more interesting then the tower defence and assassin real estate agent mini-games from the previous AC games. If they improve on this success, it should make a good game. They will need to remove the mini-game feeling out of it however: like those untimely rogue wave and not so dynamic weather system.
