google hdtv resolution explained and read the cnet article. I would paste it but I use firefox 3. It clearly explains that ALL fixed pixel display, that would be LCD, Plasma, and DLP, display the picture at its native resolution. EDIT Native resolution means the resolution content was designed to be viewed, ie 720p, 1080p. Thats why "upconversion" is a joke, because HDTV's already upconvert the image to that resolution, not the dvd player. If you watch a 16/9 dvd on a 16/9 HDTV, you dont suddenly lose part of the picture despite the fact your not using an "upconversion" dvd player do you? No, you dont. Like I said, get a true 1080p SOURCE , like blu-ray, and try it then.
EDIT Notice my name, theres a reason for it. ;) Get rid of the protection penalties for the QB but at the same time enforce defenseless players at other positions more. A prime example would be to eliminate chop blocing from the league. Too many Bronco lineman have ended a DL's season chop blocking. There was a time when a DL could knee a OL in the face if he tried to chop block, now if you do that its a unsportsmanlike penalty. And what the hell is tackling the QB with all your body weight? What are you supposed to tackle them with. Get rid of the tie option in OT. Make it sudden death. After each quarter in ot, redo the coin flip. So teams are forced to play to win at the end of the first ot period. Not like the Bengals who call a handoff on 3rd and 9 with a 45+ yard field goal looming and a cross wind in November.
Now that I really think about it, I dont remember the Celtics, Lakers, Bull, or Pistons of old flopping around like someone tried to r@pe them. Maybe thats why their considered part of the best teams of all time discussion. Everyone admits the Spurs (of the Robinson, Duncan, Parker era) and Lakers (during the 3-peat years of Kobe and Shaq) are good teams, but not too many experts consider them in the same class as the all time best teams.
Are you running any mods? If so download Oblivion Mod Manager. Download it even if your not using mods for that matter. The error Vista reports is driver related. Its telling you that something has tried to access inaccessible parts of your memory.
I would love to help, but without anymore information other than its a black screen, theres not much I can do. The issue you googled is one that I've experienced myself, you boot Vista and your background is a plain black screen. If Vista has problems accessing your background it defaults to a black screen. I have Vista Ultimate x64 and use the DreamScene content as my background and this happens to me from time to time. If your getting a totally black screen with a cursor even in safe mode then that leaves me to believe that you are having issues beyond just the os. Lastly, it sounds like you have an upgrade cd, is this true? If you boot from the cd, you shouldnt get an option to boot into safe mode, it should boot from the cd. EDIT An easy way to prevent Vista from getting the black screen is to use msconfig and turn off Windows Image Acquistions (WIA)
I hate the fact that manufacturers think its ok to sell people computers with less than 1gb of ram. I actually saw one with 256mb of ram. Seriously???? As a consumer, this should be illegal. As a person who services computers, it really pisses me off when I ask a customer to boot their pc and it takes 20 minutes because of how much ram they have. Vista Ultimate x64 is great. If you dont have a high performance pc, then dont use Vista. Its not Vistas' fault your pc is 5 years old, but you think you can run Crysis in dx10 mode at 60fps and it hurts your feelings that you cant.
Thats impressive until you said liquid nitrogen cooling in conjunction with engineering sample. I will remain skeptical until someone who isnt paid by AMD hits 4ghz on air like people have with the Q6600 GO. I've always been an Amd/ATi guy, but I just lost patience with the admin of the quad Intels.
