My history professor was a right winger who made jokes about slavery and the slave trade. Then again I go to college in West Texas.

NOT a liberal arts major here.

Even liberal arts degrees can be useful. In some cases corporations and companies hire people with liberal arts degrees to do administrative work for 30-50K a year; where they can move up to marketing, H.R or even finance positions. Normally those with only high school degrees can't get those administrative positions and have to work retail or construction.
