What this guy is saying makes perfect sense, but I have a feeling that he is saying this only because both next-gen consoles utilize AMD hardware. If they had gone for Nvidia, he would surely have kept his mouth shut. Now he's saying this because his company's products are only concerned with PCs.
EXACTLY my thoughts! They just want to make sure many people buy XBox One, then after a couple of years, they just go ahead and release a mandatory update which makes the console always online (or a 24 hour check in) again! Then, these guys who bout XBox One are gonna suffer BIG TIME.
For me, the removal of 'recent documents' on Windows 8 is a real deal breaker. After removing the start menu, they should have at least provided this 'recent documents' feature in some form.
I have a hunch that Valve might announce Half-Life 3 soon, but make it exclusive to SteamOS. And considering Half-Life's legacy, most people won't think twice about installing SteamOS just to play Half-Life 3.
After reading what's on this page, I have a sinking feeling that the new Gamespot wlll probably be an absolute nightmare to use. I always believe that 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it'. Gamespot is perfectly fine now,, and they could just have added some improvements. This complete overhaul was totally unnecessary, and will probably hurt Gamespot. And what doe they mean by saying they have been using the same technology for 17 years? In that case, they should still be using HTML 2.0 for the site design, which is definitely not true.
HIGHLY unlikely. Forget demand hitting critical mass. The demand for the next Half-Life has actually gone beyond critical mass. And since Valve is making millions every minute by selling other studios' games on Steam, they just don't feel the need to make games themselves. They did make the Portal and left 4 Dead games (also Dota 2), but none of these really matter because Valve's flagship franchise is (or was) Half-Life.
To hell with you, Mr Newell. Your company Valve CONVENIENTLY abandoned the Half-Life franchise when you became too greedy with making money off Steam. If you have at least an ounce of self respect remaining, at least release some graphics novels or something, just to conclude Half-Life's story which you people left as a cliffhanger. Valve was a company I really respected for several years, but not anymore.
