Seeing as the FFVIII is the last FF seen on the PC, I have some doubts about it coming. I will say though that if The Last Remnant for the PC does well, in terms of sales numbers, and is followed by a more than successful console release of FFXIII then I can see it coming to the PC. I see PC gaming as strong as ever and, piracy issue notwithstanding, I think SE will try and take a slice out of the PC Gamer wallets. At the moment though, I can't imagine why they're pursuing a PC version for The Last Remnant. Perhaps they wanted to refine the console version mess they made and decided to take stab at PC gaming again at the same time. Who knows?

Looks like you got duped into buying the trial version or you were duped into thinking you got the complete retail version. Either way, you need to clear this mess up with the store you bought it from. Some years back, I clearly remember a box of Guild Wars being sold at a local shop here that specifically said trial version, so maybe that's the one you got? Or some store clerk switched the discs? Just go back to the store and get your money back.

Yeah, go get the PSU you were saving for and give it a test run while you save up for the other components of your upcoming gaming rig. That way you can at least determine if the PSU you have is not a lemon. There's always that small chance of a lemon even from the best manufacturer's right? That's what I did when I was about to replace my old gaming rig. Bought a new PSU and hooked it up to my old PC. On my new rig w/c I just got last January, I'm using that same PSU.

For really old Dos games, I use Dosbox. For Lucasarts games I use ScummVM.

Oldest game that I played on Dos Box was the original Prince of Persia. Played it in all it's VGA glory! I remember playing it on an XT and playing it from the floppy drive since our XT had no hard drive! Now I feel old.... :(

If you're going to play an RTS game, there's gonna be some clicking. Maybe a lot too. But there is such a thing called hotkeys. You might want to look into that. What you fail to notice is that Starcraft has 3 races, each with varying units with varied skills and yet the game is still balanced. Yes there may be some flaws but they are never game-breaking. The game may be hard to master, but if it wasn't then it wouldn't be great or even fun.

Turn off V-sync. And turn of AA as well. Those 2 settings always cause a significant drop inFPS for most games.

The long beeping noise coming from your PC when it's turned on indicates a hardware problem. Obviously, the problem is that the video card is not plugged in to the PSU. It's a 9800 GT so it definitely needs to be plugged in. Get the molex to PCI-E adapter and you should be good to go. Trust me, I've been there. I installed a 9800 GT recently and forgot to plug in the PCI-E adapter and the beeping noise nearly blew out my eardrums!

I got Persona 4 recently, but haven't played it yet. Too busy gaming on my PC.

EA is prolly looking to milk the cow dry by pumping out as many Mass Effect "sequels" as possible, like they always do. mirgamer

I don't know how many sequels you're expecting for Mass Effect, but apparently it was made clear that ME would be a trilogy. Of course, that may change should EA decide to change it. Then again, they can stick to keeping it a trilogy and then churn out spin-ff games instead w/c would suck. Who knows?
