New Mouse

I went shopping today and got myself some nice new summer clothes that actually fit me. Then I went wandering into EB like I normally do and I noticed they were having a massive sale on. Of course I wasn't going to miss out on this fabulous opportunity, so I went in and noticed that all hardware was on sale for 25%+ off. I desperately needed a new mouse as my current one was old, no handy features and it also occasionally veers around the screen uncontrollably, which can be very annoying. Well I went and bought myself a brand spanking new Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse and I tell you it is a fantastic mouse and well worth the value considering I got it 25% off and normally it is around $90 Australian and I got it for $78, which is about 41bucks American and its normally 50bucks American, so that's a not bad saving

I downloaded the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo and have been playing that and the mouse really helps with on the fly adjustable sensitivity and a real nice smooth movement. I will get the full version of Unreal Tournament 2004 soon and then hopefully when I get a faster internet connection I will play online with the aid of my newly acquired mouse :)

30 posts

Just a small update because I realised I reached the 30 post milestone. I know this isn't that fantastic and exciting, but I've only been a member for 6 days and I have 30 posts. Do the maths and thats 5 posts per day, which is quite high and something I will most likely not be able to keep up when I go back to school. Oh well, in other news i'm going to the shops tomorrow to buy some much needed clothes because I have grown out of nearly all my summer clothes and the weather is definetly warming up here in Australia.

Boxing Day

Wow I havn't played Xbox for a whole 4 days and considering i'm on holidays that is quite amazing for my standards. Anyways i've just been very busy lately and today I had an after Christmas lunch because my family always does something on Boxing Day. I am so full of food right now and I think I ate a bit too much chocolate. Oh well it's Christmas and I can always work it off.

I still havn't got round to making up a Header Image for this blog, but once all the Christmas celebrations die down I will have plenty of time to sit down with Photoshop and create something that suits this blog and my style. I might also change or just add to my signature with possibly a picture, but I quite like my little line. I got the idea of seeing so many people showing their PC specs in their signatures that I thought well i'll do a stupid satire of that and put my Xbox specs in mine. That's it for now, I might update later if I can be bothered.

Christmas!!!

Well it's Christmas and today was one very groovy, fun Christmas. I find it kind of sad that I can still find time to post in my blog on Christmas Day, but everyone has left by now and although its only 9pm our Christmas party is mostly a daytime thing. I still had an amazing time today even though I havn't played Xbox in a whole two days I couldn't care less.

I am not disappointed that I didn't get a new Xbox game for Christmas because I just totally forgot about my Xbox and just enjoyed the food, the company and the whole spirit of Christmas for me doesn't really involve much playing on electronic devices. I still wanted to post a blog, sadly I missed one yesterday even though I said originally at the start that I would post a new entry everyday, but I was just so unbelievably busy yesterday, which is strange because I was more busy yesterday on Christmas Eve than on actual Christmas Day. But im glad that this is so because on Christmas Day I just want to relax and enjoy myself along with everyone else.

This is Gamedevster saying Merry Christmas to everyone in Gamespot and a Happy New Year!

Poker night

Today I didn't end up playing much Xbox at all, but I still had a lot of fun today. I just had a very long game of poker that lasted several hours, many drinks and lots of rounds. Of course I wasn't actually drinking for I am underage (15 years old), very illegal and my Dad was also playing, but the good thing was that as the night progressed everyone got more and more drunk and therefore playing worse at poker, which gives me a slight advantage, although not a very huge advantage as it is very much a game based on luck.

I also had a nice outing where I played board games all day with a few of my friends. I am a bit annoyed with myself as I have not programmed or done anything remotely productive on the computer since the start of holidays. I am mostly just waiting for Christmas and then after that I will be settled in and hopefully get working on a few things such as developing my programming skills, making a few very basic 2D games, getting better at 2D and later on 3D art. I also seriously need a job if I am to get a better computer. This is mainly because if I do end up doing any advanced 3D programming my computer will prevent me from doing anything past rendering a basic, untextured, low polygon 3D model onto the screen because I am cursed with a 5/6 year old graphics card, old dodgy Motherboard, an extremely slow CPU and bugger all RAM.

I figure I may as well buy a whole new computer complete with all accessories, i.e: speakers, mouse, keyboard, new tower and monitor ect...The reason for this is because I would need at least 5.1 or better speakers along with a good sound card to program bettter 3D sound and actually see results for I only currently have an on-board sound card with two pitiful 6 year old speakers. My mouse and keyboard are both very dirty and terribly old and bad, my mouse randomly jumps across the screen every so often and it is extremely annoying. My monitor is probably the best thing about my current computer as it is the newest addition to my junk setup, a 17 inch LCD with 12ms response time, which is not bad for the time being, but I would like to get a slightly larger and faster one, say 19 inch with 8ms or possibly lower if I can afford it. Well this is all my dream and I do plan to make this reality one day, because I will apply for a job and actually get out there and really put some hard work in to achieve what I want.

In the beginning...part two!

Wow I really need to think of a more original names for my journal entry titles.

Well today I played quite a lot of Xbox and I have nearly finished Mortal Kombat: Deception Konquest mode. I'm just up to the last battle between Shujinko and Scorpion and I am finding it incredibly difficult. Scorpion is ridiculously aggressive and I have had no practice with Shujinko as you don't actually get the chance to practice with him. Another thing is that Shujinko lacks any special abilities, which heavily disadvantages me. Although Shujinko has an absolute plethora of combos, sadly a lot of them are extremely long and hard to execute what with Scorpion consistently on the offense.

Enough of my ramblings on about how im not a very good Mortal Kombat player, as this is my first Mortal Kombat game to own. One thing I need to do is develop a Header Image for this blog, so I better whip out ye'olde Photoshop and make me up one. I can't do that now because i'm not at my house for a while, so I don't have access to a computer that has Photoshop or any graphics development program apart from MS Paint. I also think I should get posting on the forums here as I still havn't made a single post yet.

Okay enough of my rants as I've ran out of anything remotely interesting to say...But I will be updating this blog on hopefully a daily basis and even more if possible and thats IF I actually have anything relevant and partially appealing to say.

In the beginning...

There were monkeys!

Okay i'll be serious from now. Well this is my first post in this blog/journal. It probably wont be a very long post and ill most likely add more tomorrow morning, because im quite tired right now as it is past midnight here in Australia.

Well that's about all I have to say right now. I look forward to posting a lot more on this blog and sharing my gaming experiences with everyone...or anyone has can be actually bothered reading this journal, so that probably won't be very many people. But to all those who can be bothered reading this I thank you and goodnight to everyone in Gamespot.
