To be fair, they set those expectations with the marketing...and then failed to live up to it. Im an older gamer as well, 37 years old. I guess growing up on Games like Zelda, Maniac Mansion and in newer systems, Diablo, Red Redemption, I expect more from Current Gen. Those games has such depth, this has very little. As a shooter, I agree with your comments, you can jump in and enjoy until family stuff pops up. For me though, the real problem lies with what was promised / or marketed, and what was delivered.
@DFL274 @gamersince78 Bang on DFL...I would even say it does the FPS extremely well actually...mechanics are pretty flawless. That is the only reason I get off the couch to put it back in.
@Rehvyn21 No you are right, you do grind other MMO's, but take diablo for an example. You grind and get a legendary, and it buffs minimum 6 stats, might be life after hit, or magic find (ie..loot find), etc, but in this game all you really come across is more armor / defence and a one or two or three buff to disc, str, etc.
@ninjcactus101 @gamersince78 Played it, and sadly own it on both PS4 and X1...unfortunately my friends are split on systems, so I stupidly have it on both. Look...the game is not crap, i'm not saying that. it is just not great. It is shallow on content big time. Im done the game on both systems, so that is about 40- 50 hours of gameplay I would guess...so ya...played it.
@Rehvyn21 @remaster1989 are you both nuts...I tend to this neither of you has played MMO, as this is not an MMO...lol. You guys really need to look up what MMO stands for, then see if that reflects this game
@Rehvyn21 THIS IS NOT AN MMO!!! Seriously, please stop calling it that. Even Bungie has said it is not an mmo. Do you even know what an MMO is? And the loot is good? What what whhhhatttt? The loot is laughable. To be fair though, the loot (regardless of how rare the drops are) had no chance in the first place, as the guns are all so ridiculously similar that making a change really only buffs damage and your core attributes (disc, str, etc)
When I think great loot sytems I think diablo or borderlands. What makes loot great is how different each item can be. Take a step back, and ask yourself seriously, how different are the guns you pick up from the gun you are going to replace...honestly? Other than slight increases in the items I mentioned above, they are almost laughable identical
